Sweeney Design Remodel

Sweeney Design Remodel Started in 1954, Sweeney is a residential design-build firm in Madison, WI specializing in kitchen a Trust, quality, tradition.

The Sweeney legacy, based on these three principles, began with company founder Herb Sweeney in 1954. Herb’s sons learned the construction trade first-hand by listening to their father and gradually acquiring the skills that they would use as they played an increasingly larger role in the Sweeney bath and kitchen remodeling business. Today, proprietors Tim and Linda Sweeney continue Herb’s legacy with an emphasis on family as they nurture an expanding staff and place highly skilled tradespeople in positions where they excel as they help customers’ bath and kitchen dreams come true. Sweeney’s extensive history and long-standing community involvement have made Sweeney Construction a fixture in the Madison area for over 60 years.

Luxury is a warm bathroom floor on a Wisconsin morning. 🤎

That’s it. That’s the post. 😉

But truly, everyday luxury often comes down to the details you appreciate again and again: heated floors, storage right where you need it, a generous shower, and lighting that works beautifully.

What’s your version of everyday luxury at home? 👇

Before you add on, ask this:

Do you need more space, or could the space you already have work better? 👀

Changing the flow, finding a better use for an underused room, or rethinking storage can completely change how your home works for you.

A thoughtful remodel starts by solving the right problem.

The warmth is staying. 🤎

Natural-looking wood cabinetry is giving kitchens that layered, lived-in quality homeowners are craving, especially when paired with stone, statement tile, and softer metallic finishes.

Polished without feeling precious. Modern without feeling cold.

Where would you bring the warmth of natural wood into your kitchen? 🤎

Shower or soaking tub?

Why choose? 🛁✨

A thoughtfully designed wet room brings the shower and soaking tub together in one open, beautifully planned space, giving your primary bath a more spacious, relaxed feel.

It’s the kind of design that can make your everyday routine feel a little more like a stay at a boutique hotel.

Save this one to your dream-bathroom folder. 👀

Nothing reveals a kitchen’s quirks faster than a house full of people. 👀

The refrigerator bottleneck. The counter everyone crowds around. The prep space that disappears the second guests arrive.

As hosting season gets closer, pay attention to the moments when your kitchen makes entertaining harder than it needs to be. Those everyday frustrations can become some of the best clues for designing a better layout.

Swipe through this before and after and notice how much the way a kitchen works can change.

And maybe start your own list while you’re at it. What would you change first?

Plot twist: you might not need more square footage. 👀

Sometimes the problem isn’t how much space you have. It’s how well that space is working for you.

Better flow, smarter storage, and a thoughtful rework of the existing footprint can completely change the way you use and enjoy your home.

Before adding on, it’s worth asking: Could the space you already have work harder for you?

Swipe through the before and after to see what was possible within this home’s existing footprint. ✨

The kitchen isn’t disappearing. It’s just getting quieter. 🤎

Warm cabinetry, integrated storage, streamlined surfaces, and fewer visual distractions can create a kitchen that works beautifully without visually taking over your home.

The result is a space that feels calmer, more intentional, and naturally connected to the rooms around it.

Could you see this quieter approach to kitchen design working in your home?

September is when the countdown quietly begins. 🍂

First comes football season. Then Thanksgiving. And suddenly your house is full of people, food, and approximately 47 dishes that need somewhere to go. 🥂

If entertaining tends to expose what isn’t working in your home, pay attention:

🍽️ A cramped kitchen
🪑 Limited seating
🚶 Awkward traffic flow
🥘 Nowhere to set out food

These everyday frustrations can tell you a lot about what to address in a future remodel.

Design for Tuesday-night dinner, absolutely.

But design for the holidays, too. ✨

When you host, where does everyone inevitably end up? 👇

Pinterest boards are fun. Choosing tile is fun. And watching the cabinetry finally go in? That’s pretty exciting.

But some of the most important remodeling decisions happen long before any of that.

How does your family use the room?
What isn’t working now?
What needs to be stored?
How might your needs change five or ten years from now?

Thoughtful remodeling starts with asking the right questions. Those answers help shape the layout, storage, flow, and function before you ever get to the finishes.

That’s how you create a home that works well for you now and continues to feel right years from now.

If you could make one room in your home work better, which would you choose?
