Thereโs a lot of love tucked into the ordinary things.
A meal made from scratch. Warm laundry piled on the couch. A pantry slowly filling with jars. Reading one more story when there are still dishes in the sink.
Some days, you can work from morning until night and wonder what you actually got done. The floor needs sweeping again. Everyone is hungry again. The laundry you just folded is already being worn.
But somewhere in all that doing, your family is living. Theyโre pulling up a chair, reaching for a clean shirt, asking you to make their favorite supper. Your work becomes part of what they remember about home.
I hope my boys remember being welcome in the kitchen. Sneaking a bite. Helping stir. Knowing there was room for them beside me, even when letting them help took a little longer.
Happy National Homemaker Day to the hands making a home, and the hearts pouring so much into it. Your work matters, even on the days you have to look twice to see it. ๐ค
