Thank you for sharing your perspective. I would like to clarify a few important points.
First, the portion of the paver project discussed in the review had not been paid for by the client because that portion had not yet been completed. We had completed work that the client had previously expressed being happy with.
Second, we did not ask the client to purchase additional pavers as an unexpected expense. The pavers were already part of the original project, and the client did not have the correct amount of pavers available the first time around. The client was going to purchase the additional pavers needed to complete that portion of the project, which we had already discounted from the original quote.
Our company does not like to argue with clients or go back and forth over disagreements. However, I also feel it is important to defend ourselves and provide our side of the story when something is said publicly about our company.
Once a client starts to nitpick or we feel that continuing the project could lead to ongoing disagreements or problems, we believe it is better to step away rather than allow the situation to escalate. I believe we have the right to decline to provide our services when we feel that continuing the project is no longer the right fit for our company or the client.
In this case, we made the decision not to continue with the remaining paver work. The decision to walk away was not because of a review or because payment was withheld. The paver portion simply had not been completed or paid for.
We respect the client's right to share their experience, but we also want potential customers to have the full context and understand that there are always two sides to a situation.
