A night in Richmond celebrating one of my dearest friends, Annabel Wrigley, and her daughter Ruby.

Dopamine brings Annabel’s extraordinary textile art and Ruby’s wonderfully playful knitted forms together for the inaugural exhibition in Hanbury’s new gallery space. So much color, texture and joy, and such a pleasure to see it all in a room full of people.

A little piece of La Racine is there, too: Annabel’s Umbra is on loan from the shop for the exhibition.

I’ve always believed that the most interesting homes don’t feel decorated - they feel collected over time.

When I opened LA RACINE, I wanted to create a place that felt less like a store and more like discovering something unexpected. Every piece has a history, and every object is chosen because I believe it can become part of someone else’s story.

After yesterday’s unexpected day by candlelight, the lights are back on, the air conditioning is humming, and the shop is filled with music once again.

We’re spending a quiet afternoon unpacking and enjoying a wonderful collection of newly arrived books.

A little unexpected quiet at La Racine today.

A power outage in Marshall has left us without electricity, so the shop will be closed today, Friday, June 12.

We’re spending the day appreciating the beauty of natural light, old wood, and the reminder that not everything can be rushed.
