Ginori dinnerware - a 300 year old company, from a small village near Florence, Italy. Their dishes, bursting with color and intricate patterns, have been the silent witnesses to royal feasts for centuries, holding within them a rich and dramatic history. As Thanksgiving approaches, think about adding an object to your table that tells a tale. For me, it's my grandmother's cherished spaghetti bowl, a humble heirloom with countless stories to share if it could speak. Objects with history have a unique way of sparking conversations and transforming a simple meal into a beautiful memory. Baby Nurseries: one of my favorite spaces to design. This board is for a client who wished for a vintage/boho look for her future daughter’s space in Brooklyn, NY. I always include the following when I design a nursery; images of animals because I believe that it will build a deep connection for the baby from the beginning, something on the ceiling since they spend endless hours on their back (for this nursery I chose dragonflies since they represent happiness), non toxic furniture, mattress and rugs only, non toxic paint, nothing animal based (vegan, we only want positive energy in all spaces, no attachment to tragedy) and lots of other stuff. It’s a calming, evenly distributed sound that can helps mask distractions, improve focus, and promote relaxation. Brown noise; Think of nature on steroids. Thunder, waves crashing on the sand, rushing water. Brown noise induces relaxation and masks background noise. For me, I connect and feel great surrounded by green noise. When I was a child, we used Scotchguard, the fabric protector, on all of our furniture. I can still recall the odor… strong!!!! Here we are many years later and it’s still a big seller. Scotchguard is highly toxic. It contains ingredients that include PFAS (the forever chemical), petroleum, carbon dioxide and acetone to name a few. These chemicals are linked to cancer, developmental, neurological and endocrine disorders. There are much safer options today. I use Nano products for protecting fabric in my own home.
