We’re honored to receive a 2026 AIA Award in the Unbuilt category for our work at the Port of Los Angeles.

This project asks what a working waterfront can be: a place where industry, ecology, and public life share the same edge.

Thank you to the AIA and the jury for the recognition, and to our team and collaborators who brought this vision to life on paper. We’re excited for what comes next.

In Miami, the landscape isn’t decoration, it’s infrastructure. A well-placed canopy of native trees can drop ground temperatures by several degrees, cutting the need for constant AC and making outdoor space usable again. But shade is only the start. The same planting absorbs heavy rain, slows stormwater, supports local wildlife, and helps buildings hold up against the heat and storms that define life here.

Meet Andrea!

Currently focused on the schematic design phase for the Port of Los Angeles Outer Harbor project, Andrea brings energy and precision to our studio’s waterfront master planning efforts.

When she steps away from the desk, her ideal days involve soaking up the Miami sun at the beach, catching classic and new releases at the cinema, or taking off on her next travel adventure.

Translating iconic architecture into an immersive interior experience. Designed for an 8,000-square-foot Japanese fusion concept, this study explores moments of anticipation and softness, combining sweeping wood curves, Issey Miyake-inspired forms, and muted tones into a continuous landscape.

Materials tell stories! Here one layout, yet the change of materials produces a new atmosphere. This is why texture is one of the most powerful tools in interior design!

A closer look at the upcoming 27 W Flagler lobby renovation.

Our team is redesigning the entry to open up the first two floors, letting in much more natural light and connecting the public spaces. The design pulls together warm walnut paneling, rich green tones, and soft lighting to bridge the building’s historic character with a welcoming, hospitality-focused vibe.

Behind the scenes

A look inside our design process as we select the materials, textures, and palettes for the upcoming lobby renovation. Inspired by the calm, layered tones of Miami and tropical Art Deco history, we are bringing together rich walnut finishes, emerald tones, and custom botanical motifs to completely transform this Downtown Miami space.
