Struck and Irwin Fence

Your November fence care checklist 🍂❄️

🔹Stack firewood a few feet away from your fence to avoid moisture, bugs, and pressure on panels
🔹Touch up chips in your iron fence finish before snow and slush lead to rust
🔹Point downspouts away from fence posts so freezing water doesn’t shift them
🔹Keep rock salt away from your fence and use a fence friendly ice melt instead
🔹Mark your fence line with reflective stakes so plows and snowblowers steer clear
🔹Hang holiday lights with plastic clips or zip ties, never nails or staples

A little prep now keeps your fence strong all winter long.

How long does a cedar wood fence actually last in Wisconsin?🌲 Here is what most homeowners do not know. 👇

A professionally installed cedar fence can last 20 years or more, but the posts are almost always the first thing to go. Why? Because they sit in the ground, taking the full hit of every freeze-thaw cycle Wisconsin throws at them.

The good news: with the right installation and a little seasonal maintenance, you can get every year out of that fence that it has to give.

🔥Fire Pit vs. Vinyl Fence: Who wins?

It’s October... the perfect time to enjoy crisp evenings by the fire pit.🍂 But here’s a quick reminder: keep your fire pit a safe distance from your vinyl fence.

Vinyl is durable and low-maintenance, but it doesn’t mix well with high heat. Too much exposure can cause warping or damage.

Is vinyl fencing actually worth it in Wisconsin? Short answer: yes, and here is why. 👇

No rotting. No warping. No painting. Vinyl holds up through freeze-thaw cycles, sheds snow like a champ, and still looks great years down the road. The key is making sure the posts are set correctly from day one, and that is exactly what our crews are trained to do.
