Like minded ladies… who wants to join me for this retreat? There are only 15 tickets left but I would love for someone to join me!

Im excited to sit with some of these ladies and ask them how they do what they do and glean wisdom and knowledge from them. Thankful for Homesteaders of America and the opportunities they offer.

Come chat with us tomorrow… we will be across from the goats!

I’d love to hear how your garden went this season or what you wish it would be in the spring. And as it gets cooler we can talk about growing microgreens inside all winter :)

Hi 👋 We know a lot of events have been rained out, but The Saturday Collective is OPEN rain or shine! ☔️🖤
WE HAVE A COTTON CANDY MACHINE 🫶🏻

When you arrive, park in the lot at the top of the driveway.
Your first stop is Lavender Crumb, our free food pantry + community closet. Cash only for shop purchases!

Then head down the driveway to find all of our vendors. Make sure you walk all the way to the end because we have vendors set up inside the barn too! The barn on the left is our staff barn.

🍬 DON’T FORGET THE CANDY GUESSING GAME!
Guess how many candies are in the jar and you could win $20 OFF your purchase! Dry Branch Hollow

Our vendors have reasonably priced, handmade items you aren’t going to find sitting on a big-box store shelf. This is the PERFECT time to start finding those unique gifts for birthdays, Christmas, teachers, friends, family… or yourself. 😉

🚨 PLEASE DRIVE SLOW DOWN THE DRIVEWAY.
We have farm cats, dogs, horses, people, and equipment moving around. They do not use crosswalks. 😂 It’s a farm, not a racetrack.

VENDORS: You may arrive up to 2 hours early to set up. Assigned spaces can begin heading in at 7AM. Khoa will be on the Kubota helping direct anyone who is new.

The Kight Farm will be at for all 3 remaining events.

We enjoyed today and was so fun watching the horses and talking to everyone about their gardens. We even got some folks set up with their very own Microgreen Starter Kits.

Come see us one of the next events and let’s chat about how to get your garden growing. Bring me pictures and all your garden questions!

Come visit us this fall! We will have our Microgreen kits and refills available. Let’s talk about growing your own nutritious and delicious food!

🌸 THE SATURDAY COLLECTIVE IS COMING! 🌸

Just a little reminder about WHY we created The Saturday Collective.

After having previous events affected by weather and cancellations, we wanted to create something different — an outdoor market where small businesses can simply show up, set up, and have a place to sell, connect, and grow.

No huge vendor fees. No pressure. Just small businesses supporting small businesses and a community showing up for one another.

And while you’re here, stop into Lavender Crumb! 💕 Our community closet will have affordable clothing, and our FREE food pantry will be available to anyone who needs it — no questions asked. Money raised through the community closet goes right back into helping us keep food on the shelves.

📍 Silver Mane Stables — 4240 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD
🗓 September 5 & 19 | October 3 & 17
⏰ 9AM–3PM
🌦 Rain or shine — we mean it!

Bring the family, bring your leashed pups, shop small, meet some amazing local businesses, and spend the day with us at the farm.

And if you own a small business, we still have a few vendor spaces available! Reach out to us for more information.

Sometimes supporting your community really can be as simple as showing up. 💗

Have you spent this summer watching everyone else’s gardens overflow with tomatoes, cucumbers, flowers, and baskets of fresh produce…

…thinking, “I wish I had a garden like that.”

The truth is, those harvests didn’t begin in May.

They started with a plan.

Fall is one of the best times to design and build a garden. The weather is cooler, the soil is still warm, and you’ll have plenty of time to prepare everything before spring arrives.

Imagine walking into next season knowing:
🌱 Exactly what to plant.
📍 Where everything should go.
☀️ Your garden is designed for your space and sunlight.
🌿 Your beds are built and ready to grow.

You don’t need a huge backyard or years of experience. You just need a good plan.

That’s where I come in.

During a garden consultation, we’ll walk your space, talk through your goals, and create a personalized plan that fits your family, your budget, and the amount of time you have to garden.

Next spring, instead of wishing you had started, you’ll already be harvesting.

🍅 Your dream garden starts this fall.

📩 Send me a message with FALL to learn more about fall garden consultations and get on my schedule before it fills up

So this front pollinator garden started off small and full of weeds, this is just one year later with lots of love and weeding.

But things just keep blooming and making us happy!

Are you growing plants specifically for the pollinators? 🦋🐛🐝🐞🪲

Think gardening season is over? Think again!

Here in Frederick, late July is the perfect time to start your fall garden. With cooler weather on the way, you’ll enjoy fewer pests, healthier plants, and some of the sweetest harvests of the year.

🌿 Direct sow these crops in late July:
🥕 Carrots
🫜 Beets
🫛 Bush Beans (last planting!)
🥒 Cucumbers (last planting!)
🎃 Summer Squash (zucchini, yellow squash, pattypan)
🌱 Turnips
🥬 Swiss Chard
🌿 Cilantro
🌿 Dill
🥬 Arugula

Start these indoors now for transplanting in August:
🥦 Broccoli
🥬 Cabbage
🥬 Kale
🥬 Collards
🥬 Cauliflower
🥬 Kohlrabi
🥬 Brussels Sprouts (don’t wait! These take a long time)

💚 The Kight Farm Tip: Whenever possible, direct sow your fall crops. Many cool-season vegetables actually perform better when planted directly in the garden, making it an easy and rewarding way to grow your own food.

Don’t forget—a late July planting of zucchini or yellow squash can give you a fresh harvest in early fall, often with fewer pest problems than spring-planted squash!

🍁 Fall gardening is one of Maryland’s best-kept secrets. Start planting now, and you’ll be harvesting fresh vegetables well into autumn.

🌻Are you planting a fall garden this year? What are you most excited to grow? Let me know in the comments!
