If you want green grass all winter, overseeding with ryegrass in October does the job, but it needs regular watering. Pavers handle Permian Basin heat and soil movement better than poured concrete, which cracks over time. If a section ever settles, you can lift those pavers and reset them.

When's the best time to prune pecan trees in Midland? 🌳 Late winter, while the tree is dormant, usually January to February. Fall is the time to get ready: take out dead or hanging limbs before winter winds hit, give the tree a deep watering, and have it checked for weak branches. Pruning heavily in fall can push out new growth that the first freeze will damage.
