🎄✨ TOO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS? NOT IN RETAIL!

While everyone else is debating when it’s officially acceptable to start decorating for Christmas, we’re over here thinking about the holidays ALL YEAR LONG! 😂🎅

Fun fact: At LUCE Lighting & Design, our Christmas planning starts the first week of January when we head to market to shop for the NEXT holiday season! 🎁

And now? It’s officially time to bring that vision to life!

We’re getting a little creative with our holiday window displays this year, experimenting with a DIY frosted-glass effect using Epsom salt, water, and a little dish soap! ❄️

Will it work? Will we have to start over a few times? Probably. 😂 But that’s part of the magic of creating something special!

We’re taking you behind the scenes as we transform LUCE into a winter wonderland, one window at a time. ✨

What started as a passion for lighting more than 20 years ago has grown into something so much more. ✨

For Mitch Conklin, owner of LUCE Lighting & Design, it began with lighting consultation, design and fixture sales—helping clients find the pieces that could completely transform a space.

Then, about 10 years ago, LUCE Lighting & Luxuries was born on West Vliet Street in Milwaukee.

The vision? Create a space where clients could experience beautiful lighting in person—seeing the fixtures, finishes and details that make great design feel different.

Another home, another lighting design challenge—and this one was a fun one.

I’m Mitch Conklin, owner of LUCE Lighting + Luxuries, and I’ve had the opportunity to design the lighting for the homes featured on Betting on Beloit.

This week, we’re taking you inside 631 College. From the outside, this home feels grand, but inside, we had to be intentional with every space—using lighting to make each room feel comfortable, elevated and larger than its footprint.

A few spaces you’ll definitely want to watch for: the dining room and a little powder room on the main floor that packs a lot of personality.
