VMK Concrete

09/25/2026

In January 2023, three drivers drove the very first VMK Concrete trucks into our yard. 🚛🚛🚛

No big fleet. No five plants. Just our first trucks, our first drivers, and a whole lot of faith in what VMK Concrete would become. 💙

Today, one of those ORIGINAL THREE celebrates his birthday — Ruben Villarreal!!! 🎉🎂

Ruben has been with us since DAY ONE. He’s seen the growth, the crazy days, the REALLY crazy days 😂, hes been here ever early morning, the long pours, and has delivered enough concrete to last a lifetime.

But more importantly, Ruben has become family.

If you know Ruben, you know he can brighten the room — or the batch plant 😂 — just by showing up. His personality, loyalty, work ethic, and the pride he takes in VMK mean more to Victor and Karla than he probably realizes.

And after all these years, we can confidently say:

🏆 RUBEN VILLARREAL — THE BEST READY-MIX DRIVER IN TOWN!!!! 🏆

(And because it’s his birthday, nobody is allowed to say otherwise today. 😂)

Happy Birthday, Ruben! We love you and are so thankful that when those first VMK trucks rolled into the yard back in 2023, you were behind the wheel. 💙🚛

Here’s to many more birthdays, many more loads, and many more years of Building Solid Foundations together.

Happy Birthday from your VMK family!!! 🎉🎂🚛💙

Today we celebrated two great members of the VMK Concrete team—our Texas State Mechanical Engineering Intern, Nelson, and our Fleet Coordinator, Bryan Nuñez. Happy Birthday, guys! 🎉🎂

Looking around the room today reminded us just how far we’ve come.

Did you know that in November 2024, VMK Concrete acquired the CEMEX Ready-Mix operations in the Rio Grande Valley? One of the things we’re most proud of is that we retained much of the experienced leadership that helped build the business over the years.

The first photo is a throwback from 2014 featuring our President, Victor Garza, and the leadership team. Fast forward to 2026, and many of those same leaders are still with us, now joined by an incredible group of new talent.

Together, this team represents more than 100 years of combined ready-mix concrete experience—a foundation of knowledge, commitment, and leadership that continues to serve our customers and our community every day.

Here’s to honoring our past, investing in our future, and continuing to build solid foundations. 💙🏗️
