HURRICANE PREP: Don’t Forget Your Pond! 🌧️

With severe weather potentially headed our way, now is the time to make sure your pond is ready!

Here are a few important steps for pond owners:

🔌 Check your generator: Make sure your generator is working properly and is ready to power your pond pumps if the power goes out.

🧪 Stock up on water-treatment supplies: Have dechlorinator and baking soda on hand. After a storm, water quality and pH can change, and having these supplies available can help you respond quickly.

🍃 Protect your pond from debris: If you have a pond net, consider putting it up before the storm to help catch leaves, branches, and other debris. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing one, now is a good time to prepare.

⚡ Be prepared for power loss: If your pond relies on pumps, aeration, or filtration, have a plan in place for an extended power outage.

🐟 Keep an eye on your fish: Storm debris, runoff, power loss, and rapid changes in water conditions can all affect your pond’s ecosystem. Once the weather passes, check your pond for debris and signs of stress.

We will be monitoring conditions closely. Depending on the storm’s severity and timing, we may have limited hours or be open by appointment only on Saturday. Give us a call before heading our way to confirm availability.

Stay safe, Mobile! 💙🌧️

Is your pond’s pH in balance? 🌿

Changes in the environment can have a big impact on your pond’s pH. Heavy rain, runoff, decaying organic matter, seasonal changes, and other environmental factors can all cause pH levels to shift.

That’s why regular pH testing is an important part of maintaining a healthy pond ecosystem. A simple pH test kit can help you keep an eye on your water and catch changes before they become bigger problems.

If your pond’s pH needs some help, we've got the solution. We carry pH Up, pH Down, and pH buffers to help get your water back on track! 🌱

Don't know what to do? We also offer free water testing!
