A front porch refresh should feel as good as it looks. For this project in Sultan, we rebuilt the cedar landing and railing, replaced the roof support posts, poured new footings, and patched the cracked, uneven concrete pad.

The result is a cleaner entryway with a landing that’s sturdy and safe to use.

Along with some needed repairs to replace old cedar deck boards and fascia with new cedar, this Marysville deck got a whole new look with a new black aluminum TimberTech Impression Rail System with vertical baluster infill.

The customer chose to upgrade to a fascia-mounted railing system, which helped maximize the usable deck space and gave the deck a cleaner, more open look.

We removed the existing wood deck for this Monroe customer and rebuilt it to match the original footprint with TimberTech Harvest Collection PVC decking in slate gray, along with matching PVC fascia and risers. We also changed the existing flush transitions to a single step on each side of the deck and shimmed the stair framing off the concrete with PVC to help protect the framing from moisture.

The end result is a low-maintenance PVC deck with a completely new structure underneath and several added details designed for long-term durability.

For this customer in Bothell, we inspection multiple porch posts for structural integrity. One post had extensive rot and required full replacement.

Another successful porch repair completed!

The existing porch roof was supported by a rotting viga-style post that needed to be replaced. We first braced the porch roof, safely removed the deteriorated post, and poured a new concrete footing around the existing footing to raise the post base farther above grade for improved durability and longevity.

To finish the repair, we installed a custom-fabricated 6"x6" steel post to provide a strong, long-lasting support for the porch roof.

A huge thank you to AP Northwest mobile mechanic and welding for fabricating the custom steel post and Thermo Tech Powder Coatings for the outstanding powder-coated finish. Both companies delivered exceptional quality and helped make this project a success.
