Blanched all those beans I picked the other day and got them into the freezer for future meals. 8 future dinners have our veggie sides prepped and ready! 😁

My harvest freezer is bursting at the seams, I could barely squeeze these in. I must find time soon to clean it out and get it organized before winter sets in!

What are your favorite winter squash varieties? We like Autum Frost (very similar taste and texture to Butternut, Delicata and Jarrahdale are our favorites. Unfortunately my 3 Jarrahdale plants only produced one this year (not pictured).

But I think these will get us through! I wash them with a few glugs of white vinegar to remove any mold spores, and they will last until spring easily.

Sometimes I roast a bunch and freeze the roasted squash for quick and easy use, I'll post a tutorial down below.

Finally got my onions all cleaned up after curing them. These are Patterson and Rossa di Milano storage onions. They will keep well until the end of winter/early spring, so no more grocery store onions for awhile!

Last year was a better pepper year for me. I had bigger fruits that I was picking all thru September.

This is my first big basket of sweet peppers this year and they are much smaller than last year, but I'm still happy to have them!

Jimmy Nardello Italian peppers, Golden California Wonder, Yellow Monster, Ace and Ozark Giant were picked here today.

One batch of grapes done in the steam juicer! This batch nearly filled a 20 qt stockpot and I probably have a few more batches to do this week.

If you don't have a steam juicer, I highly recommend one for any homestead kitchen. I have used it for apples, pears, raspberries, cranberries as well as the grapes. Super handy if you grow a lot of fruit and like to preserve it all!

Hubby did the first big grape harvest today. I will be steam juicing these tomorrow and canning up the juice.

Another big picking of cherry tomatoes today before the rain comes tonight and tomorrow. I picked all the mature size green cherries, plus anything with a hint of color.

My plants still look pretty good, I did check each plant for signs of late blight today and didn't find any, but it is sure to set in soon!
