Maple floor face lift, out with the old oil polyurethane and in with so Loba 2k Duo Satin finish. Keeping the natural look of the nice light maple and to stand up to the abuse of the homeowners dogs. Came out awesome!

2nd floor of Stonington Borough project. After moving walls, taking up carpet and many repairs in this old house these old pine floors are back in action! A challenging project but worth the effort. Homeowner decided to keep the light natural look with water based finish with a satin sheen for a nice glow. By all means not a perfect floor. It still has a lot of character but gave this old space a great new look along with all the other renovations!

Another return customer with total kitchen renovation out in Haddam Neck. They chose to go with a 5” Red Oak. Anything 5”-7” in width we do a glue assist nail down installation. First we take take a sander to the floor to ensure it’s nice and flat and clean. Then a coat of liquid v***r barrier is applied. The flooring is then glued and nailed for optimum installation, with out the glue a wider width board is more prone to get gaps over time. We sanded and finished to match the rest of the house with Duraseal English Chestnut and 2 coats of Fabulon Super Satin on top, 3rd coat will be applied when all other trades complete their work. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this project will post pics when everything is complete!

Just the first phase of many on this 1st floor renovation in Salem, CT. The goal here was to get one bedroom installed, sanded and finished so homeowner could get moved into this space. This is a 3 1/4” Santos Mahogany. This exotic wood was chosen for how hard it is. With a Janka rating of 2,200, Santos Mahogany is 18% harder than Hickory, the hardest of North American hardwoods. The homeowner is a retired dog breeder and lives with 6 dogs! This was finished with commercial 2 component water-based finish, this will stand up to the pups no problem!

Phase one of Stonington waterfront project was all the patching needed. Walls, kitchen island and lots of plumbing was moved. New fireplace hearths were installed, new wood picture frame boarders were added. Stay tuned for next phase of sanding, staining and finishing.

A few befores but mostly afters of some pre-fished Ash in this charming country home in Middle Haddam,CT. Ash is very simular to oak both are open-grain woods, meaning you can clearly see and feel the texture and lines of the grain. Oak usually has a darker, warmer tone with small flecks in the face grain. Ash is typically much whiter or paler, with a straight, more contemporary grain pattern. Finished with 3 coats of classic Fabulon oil satin sheen this floor came back great!
