Winter is here… 🍂🥶

The grass is dying, the temperatures are dropping, and Mother Nature has officially decided that green is optional. 😂

But sometimes you just need a little reminder of summer.

So excuse me while I disappear into my own little tropical jungle, surrounded by green, growing things, and an unreasonable number of Anthuriums.

Outside? SAD.

Inside? SUMMER NEVER ENDS.

Tell me I’m not the only one who treats their greenhouse like a tropical vacation without ever leaving home! 😂👇

Winter is coming and I have to rearrange ALL of my plants!

What is good about that for you?! This means I will have hands on every plants and will be able to pull some beauties I wouldn’t normally think to pull for the Tennessee Plant Show!!!

It’s been quite awhile since I have vended a large two day show… but I’m excited! I have so many amazing new hybrids I have made over the last year that I’m super excited to share with you all!

Will I see you there?!?

Ok, not my usual Planty content but had to share this because it’s so darn cute!

Our Kikiriki rooster is a big boy now! He found his crow and it’s the cutest thing ever! So much less intrusive than my Light Brahma rooster 😂😂!

We are bad and haven’t named him yet, so if you have any fun name ideas drop them in the comments!

Hu or King of Spades is not the best pollen parent! Does that keep me from trying?!? No of course not!

But I thought I would share with you what processing berries from a batch I have pollinated the mother plant with Hu looks like.

I have multiple very plentiful batches of berries from this mother plant so I know she is good.

Tonight’s harvest yielded one possible viable seed. So far I have 5 total that look like they might be good enough to attempt to germinate. 🤞🤞

I still have a lot of berries on the inflo to harvest but they aren’t popping off yet, so giving them a few more days. Although I’m contemplating pulling them all off early to see if maybe that will make a difference, although I highly doubt it.

But this is why I get so excited when I have Hu seedlings and especially excited when I have any success with it as the pollen parent!

Have you had much success using it as a pollen parent? I know it may vary by plant so I’m curious to know how others are doing!
