DifferentBy Design Home Staging I have been providing home staging, e-design and color consultation services since 2016. Judy Piper is the Owner of DifferentByDesign Home Staging.

She has the natural ability to walk into a home and quickly determine what is required to get ready for market. With the goals of a faster sale and multiple offers in mind, a customized real estate staging design is implemented to appeal to the targeted buyer. Using lifestyle living techniques, the positive features of the property are showcased and any visuals that could detract value are minimized. Judy earned her Certified Staging Professional (CSP) certification after graduating with honors and being personally trained by Christine Rae, President and founder of CSP International Business Training Academy and the co-author of "Home Staging For Dummies." The CSP designation symbolizes quality of work, integrity, commitment and client satisfaction. After a long career in the corporate world, Judy began DifferentByDesign to pursue her passion for real estate, design and working with people. Years of management experience provide her with the unique ability to successfully manage a project from beginning to end, make decisions quickly, appreciate the value of clients needs and meet critical deadlines. Ready for a little fall around the house? You don’t need to completely redecorate. A few simple swaps and seasonal touches can do the trick.

🍂 1. Style the mantel with branches, leaves or a few natural elements
🕯️ 2. Bring out the candles for softer evening light
🌿 3. Clip branches from outside and pop them in a favorite vase
🍐 4. Fill a bowl with pears, apples or mini pumpkins
🧺 5. Add woven accents with baskets or natural materials
🤎 6. Work in earthy colors like rust, olive, brown and burgundy
🖼️ 7. Restyle a shelf or console with a few seasonal pieces
🌾 8. Add dried stems or grasses for texture
🚪 9. Give the entry a fall touch with a wreath or seasonal arrangement
🎃 10. Add a pumpkin or two—because sometimes you just have to. 😉

Pick a few, use what you already have and bring on fall! 🍁

A little nod to Halloween—and a color we love in interiors year-round. Black has a way of adding contrast, depth and a bit of sophistication without taking over the room.

Try it in small doses: a black-framed mirror, artwork, windowpanes, lighting, a throw pillow or a few accessories. It’s an easy way to break up a neutral palette and give the eye somewhere to land.

Timeless, versatile and proof that a little can go a long way. 🖤

Not every room has an obvious purpose, and that’s exactly where staging can help.

A bright bonus room or sunroom could leave buyers wondering, What would we do in here? Add comfortable seating, a table and a chessboard, and suddenly it becomes a spot to play a game, have coffee, read or just hang out.

Within about five seconds, a buyer should be able to walk into a space and understand how it could be used.

You’re not just filling a room with furniture. You’re giving buyers an idea for how they could live there. ✨

Fall color doesn’t have to mean bright orange pumpkins everywhere. 🍂 This season, we’re loving the shift toward deeper, moodier shades inspired by nature.

Think forest green, rich brown, deep burgundy, charcoal and warm earthy tones. They still give you that fall feeling, but in a way that feels a little more sophisticated—and they won’t feel out of place once October is over.

Pair those deeper colors with warm woods, aged brass, natural textures and soft lighting for a look that can carry you right through winter.

A little darker, a little richer and perfect for the season.

Time to bring out the pumpkins and add a little Halloween personality around the house. 👻

Try a few creepy candles, dark florals, bare branches, black accents or a playful surprise tucked into your everyday décor. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or perfectly styled to be fun. A little spooky, a little unexpected and only here for a few weeks. Might as well enjoy it. 🖤

Have some fun with your space! Move things around, play with color and don’t worry about everything matching perfectly.

🎨 Try a color you wouldn’t normally use
🧶 Mix in different textures
🔥 Light the fireplace or a few candles and create some ambience
🌿 Bring in branches or greenery
🖼️ Add those special pieces you’ve collected and love
🪑 Try furniture or accessories in a different spot—you never know what might work

Sometimes you just have to play around with a room until it feels right. And that’s half the fun.

We couldn’t resist this one. A stack of old books, an antique you stumbled across, a family heirloom with a story—mixing pieces from the past with something new is what gives a home personality.
A little old, a little new and a home that feels collected over time. 🤎

Sometimes the smallest distractions make the biggest difference.

Stand in the doorway of a room and notice what catches your eye in those first few feet. A tangle of cords? Too much on a side table? The back of a bulky chair? Or does your eye land exactly where you want it to?

Great staging is about guiding the eye. Clear the distractions, create a strong focal point and give the room enough breathing space to make a great first impression.

Take three feet back. You might see your room completely differently. ✨

A dining room doesn’t need a complete makeover to feel pulled together. Sometimes it’s just about getting a few key details right.

✨ Start with the table — Give it enough room to breathe and make sure chairs can comfortably pull in and out.

💡 Add statement lighting — The right fixture anchors the table and brings instant personality to the room.

🪑 Skip the matching set — Mix woods, fabrics or chair styles for a more collected, interesting look.

🖼️ Create a focal point — Art, a mirror or a beautiful sideboard gives the eye somewhere to land.

🌿 Don’t overdo the tabletop — A simple vase, bowl or seasonal branch can be all it needs.

The goal is a space that looks beautiful but still says, come in, sit down and stay awhile. 🤍
