We really didn’t think this was something we’d ever need to post, but here we are. 🪴

Recently, a couple stopped by the shop and offered us some of their plants. We politely declined and explained that, as a licensed plant dealer, we have requirements regarding the plants we can bring into the shop and offer for resale.

Unfortunately, sometime after that conversation, the plants were brought back and left in a pile on our property without our knowledge or permission.

We understand that throwing away plants can feel terrible, and we know someone may think, “It’s a plant shop, surely they can do something with them.” Unfortunately, accepting unsolicited plants isn’t that simple. There are also pest, disease, inventory, and compliance concerns that we have to take seriously.

So now we’re responsible for figuring out what to do with plants we had already declined.

We’re sharing this as a friendly but firm reminder: Please do not leave plants, pots, donations, merchandise, or other items on our property unless someone from Sprout & Sprig has specifically agreed to accept them.

If you have plants you no longer want, you’re always welcome to ask us about upcoming plant swaps or other appropriate ways to rehome them. 🌿

We love plants. We just can’t be the surprise drop-off location for them.
