A customer called for a routine filter clean and a mystery leak. 🔍💧

After inspecting the system, I found a crack in the bottom filter body housing. A lot of companies would use this as an excuse to sell a completely new $1,800+ filter setup.

But the rest of this system? Perfectly healthy.

To save the homeowner money, we sourced just the lower housing piece, swapped it out, and did a deep clean on the existing cartridges, all in a single visit. No leaks, perfect pressure, and a much happier wallet for the client.

When should you clean your pool filter?

Pool filters should be cleaned regularly to maintain proper filtration and water quality. The frequency of cleaning depends on several factors including the type of filter, the size of the pool, and the amount of debris present.

As a general guideline, many home owners know that when the pressure rises 8-10 psi above normal, it’s usually an indication that the filter needs to be cleaned.

But did you know it’s also recommended to clean your filter at least every 6 months even if the pressure hasn’t risen 10PSI?

This home owners pressure gauge had only risen 5PSI but had hit the 6 month mark. Glad we could take care of them ahead of summer!
