A complete kitchen transformation in Nevada City, California.

From a full interior gut to a thoughtfully redesigned space featuring custom cabinetry, exposed wood beams, quartz countertops, and detailed finish carpentry.

A balance of timeless design, quality materials, and craftsmanship.

We're also excited to introduce our new name, **Oakwood Custom Building Company**, formerly Nevada County Home Works. Same ownership, same commitment to quality, with a new identity that better reflects the craftsmanship and custom building services we provide.

Stop letting your basement just be “storage.”
We just turned this Nevada City concrete basement into the most functional floor in the house. We didn’t just finish the walls; we added:
• A guest bedroom + home office 💻
• A cozy den + laundry suite 🧺
• Smart under-stairs storage and utility room 📦
The Technical Part: CMU walls and moisture issues? Solved. Our team prepped, framed, insulated, and finished every square inch to ensure this space feels like a seamless, high-end part of the original home. 🏠✨
Which would you use more: a new home office or a guest suite? Let us know below! 👇

Big upgrade on this Nevada City kitchen remodel. We installed an 8’ wide window over the sink to open up the space, bring in a ton of natural light, and take full advantage of the views.

This is part of a full kitchen remodel we’re currently working through, and it’s already completely changing how this space feels.

If you’ve been thinking about remodeling your kitchen, adding windows, or opening up your layout, it’s worth doing it right the first time. These kinds of upgrades make a huge difference in both daily use and long-term value.

We’re a local, licensed contractor serving Nevada City and Grass Valley, and we’re currently booking upcoming projects.
