I’ve worked with countless clients who were moving into their first apartment (whether they bought it or rented it).

And 99% of the case, I’m seeing the exact same mistake: you furnish your space to fill it. You buy pieces individually.

Instead of having an intentional plan to create a HOME.

Well…. definitely not me!

This 7’x8’ small bedroom was an awkward space with a little unused nook and no vibe.

After a week, this is how it looks now!!

I don’t believe in the myth that a small room needs to be empty to make up for its size. Nope 🙅‍♀️

This room shouldn’t feel sorry for simply existing!
Having an extra room in NYC, no matter its size, is an amazing opportunity!!

Embrace it, fill it with what brings you joy!!

For my clients it was books, so I added IKEA shelves that almost look custom (the price for the WHOLE bookcase, with the corner unit etc… is $330 😮) and took advantage of the little unused nook to add more custom shelves above the printer stand.

They also didn’t think they could fit a large desk in there. Well, this one is 6 ft long so yup, massive desk it is 🙃

And to add texture and interest to the space without overwhelming it (because it’s, after all, a small room), I used a geometric wallpaper.

What do you think of this transformation?

Maggie messaged me right after buying her first apartment, a studio in Bushwick.
She had ideas, but she felt stuck on how to actually put them together into a space that worked.

That feeling is SO common!! Especially with your first place. And especially with a studio apartment.

You’re not just designing a living room or a bedroom, you’re designing every part of your life into one room, and it’s easy to freeze up before you even start.

We worked through her layout first. Where her bed, her desk, her seating, and her storage actually needed to live so the space could support her day to day, not just look nice in photos.
Once that foundation was set, the design choices got so much easier.

This is exactly why I love this work.
Watching someone go from overwhelmed to “I love my space” never gets old 🥰

If you’re staring down a space that feels like too much to figure out on your own, that’s what Home Design Magic is for. DM or link in bio if you’re ready to start 🪄

A project I just finalized yesterday 🤩

My clients were moving from SF to NYC with nothing, and landed in a brand new development that they liked, but definitely lacked of warmth and personality.

Well, that’s probably my favorite challenge!!

For this blank bedroom, the focus was to *layer.*

Curtains, wallpaper, textiles, unique curved shapes, lighting etc…

All this comes together to bring a sense of calm and elegance to this bedroom.

What do you think about the result?? 🤩

This is the magic behind Home design magic 🪄
7 days, $2800, and a space that finally feels like *you*.

If you’re tired of not feeling at home in your apartment, now is the time to reach out!!

I just sent this result to my clients, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you too 🤩

Lately, I’ve been drawn to more colorful interiors, and Scandinavian design will always have my heart.

It was such a fun project to style the space around the sofa (the only piece my clients already had).

What do you think of the result?? 🤩

As an interior designer, I don’t design rooms. I design the life that happens inside them.

That’s how CRUCIAL home decor is!

It impacts every aspect of your life: your mental health, your love life, your family, your friends, your work, your physical health.

You think bedroom? I think peace and sanctuary!
