A cow has a unique digestive system with four stomach compartments that help it get nutrients from grass. ๐๐ฑ The largest compartment, called the rumen, contains tiny microbes that break down tough plant fibers that cows cannot digest on their own. Cows also bring partially digested food back into their mouths and chew it again, a process called rumination. This helps break the grass into smaller pieces, making it easier for microbes to digest. Thanks to this special system, cows can turn tough grass into nutrients that provide energy for growth and milk production
