The power of a flower – or thousands.

First impressions are everything, and the entrance to Birmingham Antiques at the Gardens was show stopping.

Our handpainted Bamboo Grove covered the walls, and birds and butterflies flew up above the arches. Everything was further enhanced by the most gorgeous flowers, and plate sized dahlias sitting upon brackets by Bunny Williams Home

Our custom Ming Garden, in the gardens.

I am happy to have captured these gorgeous glimpses on my last day Antiques at the Gardens • Birmingham - my stroll through the garden was a fond farewell. Until next time, Birmingham!

We painted this design on a twilight blue toned ombré, highlighted by gilded stars. It was the perfect compliment to the flowers and foliage of the garden. The bees, butterflies and dragonflies seemed to love it, too.

The rotunda at Antiques at the Gardens • Birmingham was a central hub during the show, and looked extraordinary throughout, with the most beautiful array of antiques and flowers.

This was our first order of Èglomisè - I’ve had the idea for this design in mind for many years - I love Chinese reverse painted glass mirrors.

My collected photos of so many of these mirrors from books and auctions over the years were finally used to create this extraordinary wallpaper. The room was stunning from floor to ceiling, with the most beautiful flowers always on display. This dramatic arrangement by Matt Clinton Designs

We even created a special design for the ceiling, with trellis on silver leaf and hummingbirds, butterflies and dragonflies.

The stage was set - this was where all of the talks took place this week Antiques at the Gardens • Birmingham and it could not have been prettier.

Bunny Williams gave the loveliest compliment to all who were involved in making this area beautiful this morning when she said “I would be happy if this was my own living room“

Our handpainted landscape mural made its debut here, and we don’t even have a name for it yet! Please give me your thoughts for a great title for it in your comments.

It is a soft sepia design inspired by a tiny charcoal drawing I saw at auction years ago – I expanded on the scene with views I love - staircases, statues, fountains and hilltop villages I’ve taken photographs of in Italy.
