Reddymade Architecture & Design

Reddymade Architecture & Design A leader in today’s global design culture, Reddymade Architecture and Design was founded by Suchi Reddy in 2002.

Since its inception, the firm has been lauded for its formal experimentation, its imaginative use of color and passion for innovative materials. Along with widely-praised commissions in New York – Reddymade’s headquarters – the firm’s projects extend from Los Angeles and Miami to Chennai, India. A sophisticated ‘sense of the new’ is evident in the firm’s current work: a kinetic rain-screen facade being designed for a building in Chennai, a custom modular home in Beverly Hills, and a 264 unit condominium project in Sunny Isles, Florida, with lobbies designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The firm’s design that remade a former women’s prison in Manhattan into the Women’s Building, a center for the global women’s and girls rights movement, was one of thirteen finalists in the 2016 competition. A deep interest in contemporary art informs all work from high-end interiors to architecture. In all areas of architecture and design, Reddymade’s philosophy of pushing for design breakthroughs – both formal and expressive – remains more steadfast than ever.

The Flex Shed and Rigid Shed named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026!

Our studio is proud to have collaborated on the design of these sheds alongside Arup in the Americas, KNE studio and Core Scaffold Systems Inc., as part of a citywide initiative led by NYC Department of Buildings.

“New Yorkers are tired of sidewalk sheds that darken our streets and take up precious public space. While many of these sheds remain necessary to protect pedestrians during building maintenance, that doesn’t mean we should accept the status quo. We’re working to reduce the number of sheds across the city and to make the ones that remain safer and brighter. These redesigned sheds will bring more light, more air, and more room to move — helping us reclaim our sidewalks for the people who use them every day,” said Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani.

A yellow Rigid Shed for heavy-duty work, a blue Flex Shed with a largely translucent roof. Heavier steel replaces the usual aluminum pipes, so the structure needs no bracing running along the sidewalk, leaving the street open, bright and in view, while still keeping pedestrians protected.

A piece of temporary infrastructure shapes how a city feels every day. Form follows feeling, even on the sidewalk.

Thank you TIME for the recognition.

Artwork by Claudy Jongstra, commissioned for our latest office project.

Claudy works from her biodynamic farm in Friesland, the Netherlands. At the heart of her work is a commitment to ecological justice, regenerative agriculture, and material integrity, evidenced by her biodynamic farm that nurtures Drenthe Heath sheep and heirloom dye plants. The plants reintroduce colour in our landscapes and enhance biodiversity. Each piece is hand dyed, carded and felted layer by layer into a single cloth.

In a room where people gather to think, listen and decide together, the work brings a season of sunlight indoors: color grown from the land, held in wool, and there to inspire every conversation at the table.

Thank you to Claudy and the studio team for bringing this work to life.

A memorial shaped by a collar.

For the Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Memorial in Brooklyn Bridge Park, we proposed a design drawn from the collars Justice Ginsburg wore on the bench. An inner ring of reflective pillars traces landmark moments in her career, from Reed v. Reed to her years on the Supreme Court. A
shallow reflecting pool separates it from an outer ring of stone seating framing the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.

At the center, a convex disk inscribed with her name reflects the sky, set on a plinth bearing the words displayed in her chambers: “Justice, justice you shall pursue.” At night, the pillars form a ring of light
visible from across the water.

Reddymade x Calico Wallpaper. A “Luminous” collection.

Grounded in neuroaesthetics, Luminous treats light and color as emotional forces. The gradients began with how specific qualities of light register in the body, from the softness of early morning to a sudden burst of brightness, and unfold across six colorways: Awaken, Beam, Brilliant, Emanate, Flash, and Lucent.

“The gradients create a kind of visual breathing.” – Suchi Reddy

Casacor Miami. Curated in art, composed in color.

For the inaugural , we transformed a penthouse at Rise in Brickell City Centre, placing works by Oscar Niemeyer, the Campana Brothers, and Andy Warhol alongside pieces by rising designers.

In the dining room, a Studio Nucleo Primitive table sits on a Richard Prince rug, joined by Studio Nucleo stools and custom painted acrylic benches by Nicole Ackerman. Calico Wallpaper’s Aura in Svad surrounds the room, with lighting by Johanna Grawunder.

Inside our process, where feeling leads the design.

Every project begins with the same question: how do we want this space to feel? Whether the answer is creativity, rest, comfort, or belonging, we design architecture that responds to the people who live in it, with one goal in mind: spaces that help us feel our most human.

A floor plan, turned to face Central Park.

On the Upper West Side, we reworked a two bedroom apartment into a one bedroom home with a larger living space and a dedicated office. The open living, dining, and kitchen areas now share the view.

At the entry, a sculptural paper wall evokes the solidity of stone, its vertical ruts lifting the eye and softening sound. The calm it establishes carries through the entire home.

A rice sieve, scaled to a city.

SIFT transforms the chalanee, the humble rice sieve found in nearly every Indian household, into a multisensory pavilion shaped by the energy and density of Mumbai.

Concentric layers of woven bamboo sieves draw visitors inward along a spiral, filtering light and shadow as they move. At the center, a soundscape by Malloy James (Malloy James), inspired by the swish of the sieve in motion, holds a space for reflection within the pace of the city.

Old and new meet underfoot in an apartment grounded in its own history.

Set within a prewar co-op on Beekman Place, the home was reimagined around the way its new owner moves through the space. One of the three original bedrooms became a primary suite and home office, while a custom limestone fireplace replaced the original. The guest bath was transformed into a quiet retreat, centered around a Japanese soaking tub.
