Someone please help! I’m thinking that I maybe ruined my kitchen 😩
Backstory: My husband & I bought our first home in October, 2025. After the holidays & our daughters birthday were finally able to start doing some things to our home (trust, we have many plans lol). The first for me was the kitchen. It was just an old eye sore. I decided to paint the cabinets & get new countertops. Below will be before & CURRENT. I’m still waiting on the installation of countertops & of course have to finish painting/installing cabinet hardware.
I like the neutral tones/colors that way I can do whatever with it.
I guess my question is did I completely ruin this? What color do I paint above the cabinets there? And the wall? 😩

This is our guest bedroom in a historic Scottish coastal cottage, and I’d love some advice on colours. The window can’t be enlarged or changed, so I need to work with what we have. I was aiming for a calm, peaceful feel, but instead the room feels a little washed out and lacks warmth and character. I’d love to bring in some colour while keeping the space cosy and in keeping with the cottage’s history and charm. Unfortunately, our budget doesn’t stretch to replacing the wooden bed frame just yet, so I need ideas that work with what’s already here. What colours would you choose for the walls, bedding, and accessories to make this room feel warmer, more inviting, and thoughtfully put together?

Any ideas welcomed. We have these, I don’t know what they’re called, but have one in each side of the bed. I already have trouble climbing into bed because of bad knees. These are very uncomfortable to cling on if iver. They are to far out and in the way of easily climbing into bed. Has anyone ever removed them or shortened them. What we see under them is our outside storage area that goes all the way through to other side. Pictures appreciated of before and after. Thank you so much for any input.

**What is it about this kitchen that just doesn’t seem right? I can’t quite put my finger on it!** We’re in the middle of a kitchen renovation, and although the cabinets are going in, something about the overall design feels off to me. I’m hoping to get some fresh eyes and honest opinions before we move any further along.

The kitchen has natural wood cabinets, a large island, dark hardwood floors, and muted green-gray walls. I like the warmth of the wood, but I’m struggling to see how all the elements are coming together. Is it the cabinet color, the layout, the range hood area, the wall color, or the proportions of the island that are throwing things off?

I want the finished kitchen to feel cohesive, warm, and thoughtfully designed rather than like a collection of separate choices. I’d love suggestions for countertop colors, backsplash materials, hardware finishes, lighting, and anything else that might help bring the whole space together.

Would you keep the natural wood cabinets, or would you change something about the color scheme? Is there a detail you would address now before the renovation progresses any further?

Sometimes it helps to have another set of eyes on a space, so please be honest! What do you think is missing, what doesn’t look right, and what would you do differently to make this kitchen feel more balanced and beautiful? I’d really appreciate your ideas! ❤️

Happy Saturday! You allways have such clever ideas ❤️🤩 So.. laundry room. How to hide water and dryer hoses/tubes without loosing access? They protrude only a couple of inches, and we won’t invest more by redrywalling, nor want to move the appliances. Help!

EDIT: even though the appliances are on the “wrong wall,” the layout of the room (long and narrow) makes this position the most functional layout.

Help me decorate my owner’s suite, please! I want to make this bedroom feel warm, inviting, elegant, and beautifully put together, but I’m not quite sure what it needs to take it to the next level. I love the soft blue-gray walls, light bedding, large windows, and rich wood furniture, but I’d love some fresh ideas to make the space feel more cohesive and luxurious while still being comfortable and relaxing. Would you add more color, change the pillows or bedding, incorporate different artwork, or bring in additional decorative accents? I’m also wondering if the seating area by the windows could be styled differently to make it feel more intentional and cozy. I want the room to feel like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day without looking too formal or cluttered. What would you keep, what would you change, and what finishing touches would make the biggest difference? I’d really appreciate any decorating ideas and inspiration. Thank you!
