So special to see this bedroom featured by Homes & Gardens in a story about one of my favorite elements to bring into an interior — the olive tree.

For me, an olive tree is so much more than greenery. There’s something romantic and almost sculptural about it. It brings height and movement to a room, but also a sense of history — as though it has always belonged there.

This room was a complete transformation, from the architecture, flooring and wood-clad ceiling to the custom upholstered bed, lighting and final layers. Seeing the finished space featured makes the journey from that first “before” photo even sweeter.

Not everything trendy is worth following. But these are the ones we can’t stop swooning over.

The kitchen isn’t a workhorse this year — it’s furniture. Fluid, sculptural, almost poetic. The stone remembers it was once alive. Steel meets the grain. The wood holds its own architecture. The glass won’t fully show you what’s behind it. And the stone never really stops.

Which detail are you stealing first?

08/22/2026

The details you don’t want to overlook.

It will completely change your sensory experience in a room — something as easy as switching from a plastic plate to a solid brass rotary dimmer or toggle. There are so many options now, including smart ones.

Electrical hardware is at the top of the list. Five brands worth the upgrade:

Forbes & Lomax (UK) — invisible switches that read as jewelry, not hardware.

Corston (UK) — solid brass, hand-finished. Real weight in your hand.

Lutron, Bespoke Metals (US) — real brass or nickel, not painted plastic.

Bocci 22 System (Canada) — no plate at all. It disappears into the wall.

Meljac (France) — the benchmark. The quiet flex of nearly every serious European project.

Small hardware, big signature.

Save this for your next renovation. 🔌✨

This room feels like the place I want to wake up to on a slow, serene Sunday morning.

A space that leaves room to dream. Where materiality, utility, and luxury live together. Where old and new, softness and structure, restraint and richness are layered in a way that makes you want to feel, think, and simply relax.

There’s so much to take in—the mix of materials, the unexpected juxtapositions, the quiet color story—and yet, it still feels serene. You feel enveloped by everything around you, but there’s space. There’s light. You can almost feel the breeze moving through the sheers.

I’m so proud of this room I designed last year for Holiday House in the Hamptons. It was such a true expression of what inspires me: form and function, materiality, beautiful objects, and the tension between the old and the new.

And on slow mornings like this, it’s the room I think about most.

Where the sea, the stone, and the light become ideas. Collecting inspiration. Leaving with more than memories.

Work in progress. ✨

The best part of installation day is watching the vision come to life. We’re not quite finished yet, but it’s coming together beautifully, one thoughtful layer at a time.

Budget? Never heard of her. We only speak Budgey.🤪

White paint is never just white — these are the five we keep coming back to, and why light and location change everything. saving this one for anyone who’s been staring at swatches for too long 🤍
