š Welcome to shoulder season.
That weird little stretch of the year where the AC finally gets a break, the heat isnāt needed yet, and homeowners are happily opening their windows.
For HVAC contractors, it can also mean something else:
The phone isnāt ringing quite as much.
And when thereās no emergency, homeowners have something they didnāt have when it was 95° outside and their AC quit:
Time to shop around.
So how do you keep your guys busy and revenue moving when replacement calls slow down?
This is a great time to shift the conversation.
ā Fall heating maintenance & tune-ups
ā Indoor air quality evaluations
ā Filter upgrades & replacements
ā Humidifiers before heating season
ā Water heater maintenance/replacement
ā Water quality testing & treatment
ā Plumbing inspections and preventative maintenance
ā Membership/maintenance agreements
ā Following up on those estimates that got a āmaybe laterā during the summer rush
And maybe most importantly .. reach out before the customer needs you.
Shoulder season gives contractors something peak season doesnāt always allow: time.
Time to follow up.
Time to build relationships.
Time to train the team.
Time to revisit old quotes.
Time to find smaller opportunities that keep trucks moving while positioning the company for the next busy season.
Because āwindow weatherā doesnāt have to mean waiting around for the first cold snap.
Contractors, what are you doing during shoulder season to keep your team busy and revenue moving? š
