The ceiling is eight feet high; the illuminated molding establishes a softer line at seven feet.

I designed the custom PVC profile to conceal the LED source and give this small room the glow of a jewelry box.

The glass was deliberately kept away from the outside edge: half an inch inward laterally, with a larger setback from the front. A small offset; a precise junction.

Jewelry depends on clarity. So does architecture.

Low-iron Starphire glass removes the usual green cast, preserving the true white of the faceted tile. Diamond-Fusion treatment on both sides helps resist water spots.

Four inches of frost do two jobs: they relate visually to the solid sill beneath the window and conceal everyday sink splashes.

Practical below; crystal clear above.

Moving the vanity forward did not move the tub valve.

The full-depth vanity concealed the plumbing below, while the false wall above was built directly on the cabinet box for the eight-inch Robern cabinet.

Most recessed medicine cabinets are about four inches deep. Six inches is considered deep.

When I designed this bathroom, Robern offered an unusual eight-inch M Series cabinet—twice the usual depth. That model has since been discontinued.

A rare catalog find then; now an even rarer hidden gem inside The Jewelry Box Bathroom.

A conventional framed wall would have consumed precious inches.

This custom partition is less than two inches thick - exactly 1 3/4 inches on the drawing - returning valuable space to the vanity and countertop.

A solid wall blocked the window and crowded the vanity. Replacing it with glass carried daylight into the tub and gained almost four inches of usable countertop.

One fixed condition reorganized the entire room. Keeping the tub led us to move the vanity forward and turn the space behind it into unusually deep storage.
