Everyone meet Thelma. Thelma is the sourdough starter that is used every week to make all of the goodies at the Sourdough Shack. Thelma should have been ready to mix our dough this morning, but was moving pretty slow. I’ve fed her two more times today and she’s not cooperating very well 😔 This weekend might have a more limited menu at the Sourdough Shack - I apologize in advance. I’m not sure why she’s acting finicky after years of never letting me down. But I just wanted to give a heads up that this weekend might look a little different than usual until I get her back on track 💪🏻

Hi all! I really hate to make this post but unfortunately it needs to be addressed. Once again this weekend someone or multiple people did not pay at the Sourdough Shack. This is so disheartening when we did so well for so long without having these issues. I really didn’t want to have to put a camera in, but I think it’s unfortunately time.

I put a lot of heart and work into everything I do for this small business. I’ve donated countless hours and money into the community to giveback, and always offer food for anyone in need if they ask. I really wanted an honor system to work but I can’t keep taking the losses I have been. Yesterday’s loss is pretty significant. Some of the things are also crafts or items my kids have made, so you’re not only stealing from me but you’re stealing from children too.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years and helped us grow to where we are. I appreciate all of the regulars that have stuck with us throughout the years and helped build this dream. I’m not going to let this ruin my goals and plans for growing more, but I would be lying if I said this wasn’t extremely disheartening and defeating. 💔

The Sourdough Shack is open on this cold morning!

We have all kinds of sourdough goodies this week including Sourdough bread bowls for soup night, various flavored loaves, cinnamon rolls, cookie butter rolls, cookies and donuts! And, our newest, sourdough pumpernickel!

💕Don’t forget we also have our breast cancer awareness loaves - 100% of the proceeds form these loaves (plus a portion of our regulars) for the month will go to a local charity helping families navigate their cancer diagnosis and everything there goes along with it. They are naturally dyed using dragonfruit powder so there’s no artificial dyes!

🌾Tomorrow (10/17) at 9am!🌾

The Sourdough Shack will have lots of goodies for the cold weekend - sourdough bread bowls, cinnamon rolls, cookie butter rolls, various sourdough loaves including our new pumpernickel, and apple c***r donuts!

We will also have our breast cancer awareness loaves - these are dyed with dragonfruit powder so all natural, and 100% of the proceeds is going to the Pink Tractor Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! (We’re also donating a portion of our regular profits 😊) These taste like our classic loaves with maybe just a touch of sweetness.
