Are your boxwoods turning brown or dying in random spots?

We’re seeing this all over Oklahoma City. Dead sections don’t always mean the entire boxwood is gone — winter burn, shallow roots, inconsistent watering, damage, and even mites can all play a role.

In many cases, proper watering and trimming can help the plant fill back in instead of replacing the whole thing.

How to trim a Yucca Rostrata without getting stabbed 100 times.

If your Yucca Rostrata is getting overgrown, here’s a simple pruning trick that makes trimming it a whole lot easier.

Before you start cutting, tie a rope around the upper foliage to lift it out of the way. This gives you better access to the lower leaves so you can trim around the trunk, clean up uneven cuts, and give your yucca that fresh, sculpted look.

Yucca Rostrata has become a popular choice for drought-tolerant landscaping in Oklahoma City, and a little maintenance can make a big difference in its appearance.
