Dornacker Flooring My page is a way for me, as a small business owner, to showcase our work to new and current customers

I am a married father of 3 kids, 2 adult and 1 going to Westside as a freshman. I have been in the field doing hardwood floors since I graduated high school in 1997. What was once just another job supporting me has now become who I am. Over the years of doing the grind as an employee and doing side work to make ends meet, I have come to understand the importance of caring about your work and your

work ethic. If you treat every floor as if it was in your own house and treat the customers just as you would like to be treated, well it just made sense to me. It changed my mind set and I started to enjoy what I did with and for people. I started to push coworkers to follow suit, a few did, others didn't, but here I am trying to put out quality work that I am proud to put MY family's name on. I may not be the best, but I enjoy meeting or exceeding our customers' expectations

Start to finish for the floor on this house. Been a long process but we are done and it looks great!!original was an old prefinished that we laced into. Outside of the kitchen door by the stairs was a sunken area that Bruce Jenkins Construction raised up so we could run the wood floors around. Loba easy prime and Loba Hybrid used for the finish

We are recoating this floor with Masterline Oil based Satin. This is how you keep your floors looking good, having us come out and recoat them before wearing thru the finish. It’s a quick and inexpensive way to preserve your floors. They say to have a recoat done every 3-5 years for kitchens and high traffic areas depending on your foot traffic.

Final coated this floor today!!! Finished this white oak natural with Loba Easy Finish Satin.

Happy Monday!!! Started sanding this prefinished white oak and looking to be staining Wednesday. Looks like it’s gonna be a gray tone, more pics to come!

In our down time, I am finally making some sample boards in the shop. This first picture shows the slight differences between some of the waterbase options. White oak and color samples are next.

Friendly reminder for you and your wood floors. Check the RH (Relative Humidity) in your house. When running the furnaces harder for this cold snap, you are drying out your homes so to combat that you need run the humidifier a bit more. You should be between a 35%-55% RH to maintain a healthy living condition for you and your floors. If you can’t read the RH on your thermostat, go get a hygrometer similar to the one pictured.

Here was our interesting project today!! It’s not perfect but it is what the customer wanted and we obliged. Customer is remodeling the kitchen and changing the footprint of the cabinets and this floor is thru out the whole house and is discontinued. So we pulled from the office closet and patched in to make it work.

Took our time this week and got Seth learning to operate the bigger equipment. Seth did a good portion of this 4” Red Oak floor and it looking good.

We have been doing a few things just not posting like I was!! Some big, some small but it’s been an adventure training Seth this past year and watching him grow in knowledge. Also had RJ helping deliver material while Seth finished an install.

Another parquet floor we rocked out for a previous customer in their new home!! Stained Old Masters Maple to match the rest of house and coated with 4 top coats of ProCoat H2Oil Satin.

This one is cool!! I worked in this floor 10-12 years ago while with Mark David Floors. Now they had us out to install wood in the upstairs hallway. While there we freshened up the main floor and this gorgeous staircase with a new coat of Pallman X Power Satin. That staircase was reclaimed out of Chicago and rebuilt to fit this house by their carpenter, check out that old school grain!!

Final coated this the other day! It took us some time but these floors look great!! 4 coats using Masterline Oil based Satin

So this is the bedroom I finished up installing owner supplied LVP today. I would say my early morning staining on my transition pieces matched beautifully!!!

The floor we did this week was damaged by some delivery guys. Mark David Floors finished this floor natural in 2018 with an amber colored H2Oil and now we are lightning the floors with Pallman Natural Seal to achieve this light blonde look.

Layout of this project. We installed the entry where homeowner tore out tile and motar so we raised it up and laid new wood. Sanded and stained to match existing floors the new wood, the stairs as well as the sunken room with the French knots and border. Power scrubbed the existing floors to get ready to recoat them on the final coat. They are getting carpet installed today and moving in on Monday.

New year means New equipment!! I am trying out our new scrubber so that I am ready to start offering a New service this year. If your floors got too much traffic over the holidays, we will be able to assist cleaning them.

Took care of this 1568 sq ft glue down! Ready for the painters.
