Not every home is meant to be “open concept”

Although open concept is a sought after element when redesigning a kitchen, there are different factors to consider.

The main factor for this design was the era of this home. This wasn’t a load bearing wall, but opening up the space completely into the living area felt… off. So we designed a bar area on the opposite side of the kitchen, extending the countertop through both spaces, and added this diamond pane window.

It’s giving open concept.. without giving open concept 😉

Todays feature!

The new laundry room was previously an office. If you scroll to the before photos, you will see a large closet door within the space. On the other side of that closet is the garage (lucky us!!) So, we relocated the entry from the garage into this now mud room!

And what happened to the previous laundry room you ask?? It’s now the gorgeous banquette seating off the kitchen 🤗

Today we are featuring the pantry and office space of the dead salmon project. Why are we talking about these completely separate rooms together?? Because before, this large room was used for their formal dining room. We divided the room to create a walk in pantry and office space. Both color drenched in GOODNESS.

Note: The doorways you see were the existing entrances into the formal dining room. One from the hallway, and one from the kitchen.

OMG the photos are IN.

The Dead Salmon project is my baby. Get ready for your feed to be flooded over the next few days showcasing this masterpiece!

This was a whole main level remodel. Today, we are highlighting the kitchen.

Before, they had a narrow kitchen with bay windows, and a laundry room that made the space feel tiny and not functional. We bumped out the exterior wall about 2 feet and relocated the laundry room (we will highlight this later on) to allow function, storage, and for the everyday dining to be within the same room.
