Where it began...

In 2012 entrepreneurs Mark Kanitz & Lukas Rix embarked on a journey opening their first business in the heart of downtown Wayne, NE. Rustic Treasures opened its doors on a consignment basis splitting the profit 50/50 with consignors.

Acquiring more consignors and merchandise they quickly realized they had out grown their space and needed to make a move across the street doubling the size of their sales floor. In the years to follow they purchased The Coffee Shoppe. In early summer 2016 Mark and Lukas realized their style of farmhouse chic was a growing a trend across the nation. Forming a strategic relationship between a few artisans to offer new products and their handpicked vintage finds the 1912 Emporium was born. They purchased the original Wayne City Hall in Wayne, NE. The building was built in 1912 to be the hub for all city activities. The building had been abandon for 20 years and was in major disrepair. With help from family members and local contractors they renovated the space just in time for their products to start showing up. With an onsite brewery the 1912 Emporium is a unique shopping experience for everyone. Their venture in Omaha with a new location opening will allow customers in the metro area to enjoy the eclectic mix of vintage and new products. Prairie In Bloom will be located on the corner of 17th and Cuming street. Keeping with their style of mixing old and new the Bloom Building will serve as a perfect atmosphere for a fun shopping experience.
