We're selecting fabrics for custom bedding and window treatment with our furry friend, known lovingly as the Honey Badger!❤️🐾😁

The creamy, soft tones, along with metallics and texture, will provide a luxurious and ultra comfortable experience in the guest bedroom.

And oh, how the ideas have started to develop! We met with the creative architect today at the residence and are excited to partner with him on the possibilities!

We're working on space planning for a primary bath design that includes a dry sauna.

The homeowners are focusing on bringing more elements of healthy living and Zen spaces into their home, so a sauna is a wonderful idea for wellness and relaxation.

And we think it is a perfect way to end the day during cold winter months!

We're having some fun on the job site "testing" the soon to be bike room!🚲 Created by taking space from a nearly empty small closet, a small pantry and extra room in the large garage, we reconfigured the spaces to make one ample size room for storage and ease of access from both inside the home and from the garage.⁠
⁠
The few coats and shoes in the original hall closet will still be very accessible in the new laundry/mudroom space just a few steps away.⁠
⁠
Even better, the new multipurpose room will also function as a dog room/suite❤️ when the clients have their grand puppy stay with them and it can't be left alone on free roam!🐾🐾⁠⁠⁠⁠

We're planning a custom wall treatment for a main level remodel to add interest to the entry and conceal the bathroom door! Our plan is to create the panel sizes to mimic the specs of the ¾ lite front door.

From hand-drawn sketches to stunning 3D rendering, we're turning a concept into a reality- a beautiful blend of art and technology!

We're visiting the granite yard to verify our paint selections will work with the gorgeous quartzite countertop for the kitchen and coffee bar of the Regency remodel.

In order to create cohesive flow throughout the main level, it was important to verify our colors have the warm undertones of the countertops and cabinets.

We are sure this quartzite will make the coffee richer and the meals even more delicious!

We're appreciating the character of this 100+ year old 2-story Tudor style home and the clients who asked to keep the integrity of the era with the design of their bathroom update.

It's true, big things come in small packages! This tiny, space challenged guest bath is making the most of every inch!

Special selections were required to accommodate the minimal footprint and plumbing challenges...but we're close to the finish line and so happy to know the clients are excited about their new and more functional bathroom!

*What Are We Up To Wednesday?!*

We’re up to something truly special! Wallpaper and a colorful challenge that’s close to our hearts.

At Apropos Design, we believe every interior should tell a story - our designs are an extension of what’s meaningful to our clients.

This project has been all about Emotional Aesthetics - where every detail, every selection, is infused with meaning. Our clients lost their first son to brain cancer 20 years ago, and purple was his favorite color. Purple continues to hold a deep, sentimental significance in their lives, from their clothes to their bikes to the walls of their home.

In honor of their son, we’ve been carefully curating wall treatments that not only bring a fresh, updated look to their space, but also pay tribute to his memory. It's about creating a space that speaks to the heart.

Purple - a color with so many beautiful shades and nuances was our challenge. We sourced several stunning wallpaper options, and our clients were so on board, they said yes right away! It’s moments like this that remind us why we do what we do.

We’re beyond grateful to be part of this deeply personal journey, helping to weave love and meaning into their home.

Each colorful option is a style in the Mad woMen collection-All named after women and in celebration of femininity, strength, and creativity. We love these fabulously bold and vibrant patterns that pay homage to the Mid-Century era.

If these walls could talk, what a story they would tell!

*What Are We Up To Wednesday?!*

We're visiting the job site of a guest bath remodel during demo day. It’s important to know what happens before the finishes go in! It's so interesting to see what is behind the walls in a 100 year old home and the difference compared to how homes are now built.

Also good to see what is in the walls so we know if we can inset the vanity mirror...with cement fill between the studs, that won't be happening. Fortunately, we have already selected a beautiful second option that is not inset.

Sometimes you don't know what is hidden and how it will influence design and build decisions until the walls are opened up. However, our experience has taught us to expect the unexpected!

3 weeks of fun and informational events with Nebraska Kansas NKBA Chapter, Professional Remodeling Organization of Nebraska and Iowa and ASID-NEIA-Chapter.

2 -NEIA-Chapter Presidential Citations and 2 door prize wins.

1 team volunteer day with Metro Omaha Builders Association for the Street of Dreams.

And a whole bunch of GRATITUDE for our professional organizations and industry partners who are so supportive and enjoyable!

We’re in the initial stage of creating a cabinet concept plan for a main level Regency remodel with dual islands in the kitchen to serve as cooking and seating spaces.

Combining eating and prep spaces allows for 2 areas to feel like one. This provides all to join in the experience together and offers cohesive flow within the home.
