Hello, friends! Earlier today I made a video about the spray regimen we're following this year to protect our apples from fungal diseases (such as apple scab, but worst of all... bitter rot). I hope you like it!

Hello, friends!

This video discusses common misconceptions about chill hours and USDA zones when it comes to growing plants in Orlando, FL. Just because our area doesn't get a certain number of chill hours, or perhaps it's outside of a recommended range of USDA zones where to grow a plant, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't grow what you'd like! Looking at some of our apple trees (and with an Okame Cherry tree we grow in our front yard), we bring into perspective the fallacy of strict adherence to a specific number of chill hours or USDA gardening zones. I hope you enjoy!

Hello, friends! As April embraces its drier nature for the Central FL area, our apple trees are blooming in stages. Some of them already have formed fruitlets, while others have a simultaneous combination of fruitlets and blooms. I promise that a video showcasing the apple action will be coming before the end of the month, but I wanted to share some photos from our Pink Parfait (cultivar name is Etter 7-9) apple tree. This is one of the red/pink flesh cultivars developed by Albert Etter during the first half of the 20th century. I think it's cool our Pink Parfait tree (grafted on G.890 rootstock) is blooming profusely in our climate, so here are some photos of the blooms. Enjoy! More to come!

SPRING 2026 APPLE TREES FOR SALE SOON!

Hello, friends! We will offer grafted baby apple trees of the following varieties: Anna, Cripps Pink (a.k.a. Pink Lady), Dorsett Golden, GoldRush, Pixie Crunch, and Shell of Alabama. All the offered varieties produce fruit in our Central FL climate, so there are no worries about chill hours or USDA Zones. Just plant them, give them some TLC, and watch them grow and give you apples!

All varieties grafted on Geneva®890 rootstock, which helps apple trees produce fruit in as little as 2-3 years after planting (in the ground or in a very large container, such as a 30-gal container). Trees are both heat and cold tolerant, good in heavy soils, and resistant to fireblight, woolly apple aphid, root rot, and latent viruses. Price is $30 per tree. Reservations can be made with a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the remaining balance due at time of pickup or delivery. You can contact me through FB Messenger or by phone (407-288-3332) for questions and purchase inquiries. We accept cash, PayPal (through Friends & Family option), or CashApp.

PayPal email: [email protected]
CashApp: $bocorazon

Trees are picked up at an agreed-upon time and location between seller and customer (somewhere in Orlando). Home deliveries can be made within a 1-hour time radius from Orlando for a fee of $20-$50, depending on the distance.

Thank you, and let spring planting begin!

Hello, Central FL friends!

This short video features one of our trees with the most beautiful blossoms: the Okame Cherry. This ornamental cherry variety does well in Central FL and it rewards growers with gorgeous flowers every year during late winter. If you have the chance to grow one of these trees, don't pass the opportunity up! They're easy to grow and are cold hardy, making them excellent specimen trees for home gardens.

P.S. Apple trees will be grafted soon, so stay tuned for upcoming sales!
