Sometimes the best way to design a space is to let the character of the home lead the way.

Here, the white cabinetry keeps the kitchen bright and timeless, while the black island adds contrast and definition. Above it all, the natural wood ceiling beams bring warmth and highlight one of the home’s most beautiful architectural details.

Meet Alyssa Hayes!

With more than 12 years of experience in interior design and remodeling, Alyssa brings a thoughtful and personal approach to every project. After spending two years working alongside an experienced designer, she went on to create her own designs and develop her specialty in space planning, materials, and turning a client’s vision into a home that feels both beautiful and functional.

While Alyssa’s personal style is eclectic, her favorite spaces to design are the ones that feel right for the people living in them. She loves finding the details that make each renovation feel at home in its space and built to stand the test of time. When she’s not designing, Alyssa enjoys time with her husband, their two young children, their German Shepherds, friends, and pursuing her passion for real estate investing 🌟

Like this cabinet? There’s your proof that thoughtful design has staying power 🤍

We completed this custom cabinetry in August 2024, and it’s still inspiring our clients today. That’s what we love about a well-designed space. It doesn’t need to chase fleeting trends to feel current. When the layout, materials, and details are thoughtfully considered, the design continues to work beautifully year after year.

This is EXACTLY what we mean when we talk about timeless design. It was right for this home then, and it’s still giving our clients ideas today.

Meet Tim Doutrich 👋

Tim’s connection to Paradise Custom Kitchens goes all the way back to 1986, when his mother, Ruth Doutrich, founded the company. After studying business management at Shippensburg University, Tim joined the family business and began designing kitchens, eventually becoming a Certified Kitchen Designer and Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist.

His experience in both design and aging-in-place has shaped the way he approaches every kitchen, with a focus on making spaces as functional and practical as they are beautiful, including thoughtful accommodations for special needs.

One of his favorite details to incorporate is a flush window sill, where the countertop continues into the window. It creates a brighter, more open feel while also adding a little extra countertop space.

And when he’s not designing kitchens or being the greatest CEO, you’ll probably find Tim outdoors, usually hunting or enjoying some time in the woods.

We’re pretty lucky to have him leading the way at Paradise Custom Kitchens 🍀

The cabinetry is the statement. The wallpaper just knows how to play its part.

For this speakeasy-inspired bar display, we wanted the custom cabinetry to do most of the talking. The center cabinets are clad in sustainable leather, giving the space a depth and texture that you don’t typically see in a showroom. We kept the surrounding elements intentional, including the wallpaper as an accent rather than letting it compete with the cabinetry. And that custom-matched Juniper finish on the True refrigerators? The perfect finishing touch.

It’s all about letting each material have its moment while still making the whole space feel cohesive.

After wrapping up our showroom display for Martin’s Appliance in Brownstown, we were asked to create a brand-new bar display for the Steel Appliance showroom.

For this space, we went in a different direction with a sleek, moody look inspired by the feel of a classic speakeasy. The center cabinetry is completely clad in sustainable leather, which was a new design technique we’re working to perfect in collaboration with EcoDomo. Based in Maryland, EcoDomo takes leather scraps from car interiors, shoe companies, and handbags from across the country and transforms them into luxury architectural panels.

We had the opportunity to learn more about their process and apply the material to custom cabinet doors, which made this project especially interesting for our team.

To complement the leather, we custom-matched the True refrigerators in their Juniper finish, bringing another layer of color into the space while keeping the overall look cohesive.
We love how the combination of materials came together in this display.
