Unfortunately, both the Palafox Market and the Sunday Market on Palafox are canceled this weekend. The city needs to inspect all of the parks to make sure they are safe, but they don't have enough personnel to do it by this weekend. But we plan to come back strong the following weekend with tons of fall weather plants!

In the meantime, enjoy this photo (taken from a 2nd story window!) of Tom climbing a huge downed pine tree to get a picture of my mom's damaged roof. This is how you get brownie points with the MIL!

Pumpkins for Thanksgiving (and maybe Halloween)!
There is enough time to grow some varieties of pumpkins and winter squash in time for Thanksgiving and possibly even Halloween. This weekend we have 3 varieties of pumpkin-shaped squashes. They were all chosen for their resistance to Squash Vine Borers and their shorter time to mature.

In addition, we have two other Solid-Stemmed Squashes that are shaped different from pumpkins. These can be grown to a mature orange color, but are typically eaten at an immature green color as a substitute for zucchini and yellow squash. In fact, all pumpkins and winter squashes can be eaten this same way.

Our plants can be found here:
