Hello TWS,

The ###VII Annual Conference Rabies in the Americas (RITA 2026) will take place in Tempe, Arizona, USA, from October 18 to 23, 2026, hosted primarily at the ASU Memorial Union.

Participants can earn up to 28 CEUs in Category I on the Certified Wildlife Biologist® application. One CEU can be earned for every hour of learning.

For the TWS Certification renewal program, all applicants need to do is log their completed hours on their renewal application.

The local Rabies in the Americas committee (based in Arizona) is excited to formally invite you to register and submit abstracts for the upcoming 37th Rabies in the Americas 2026 meeting, to be held in Tempe, Arizona, USA, from October 18-23. We are supporting both virtual and in-person viewing and presentation opportunities.

Abstracts for oral presentations are due on August 31, 2026, while abstracts for posters will be accepted through September 15, 2026. We will additionally have an exciting rapid immunohistochemical test (RIT) training opportunity led by Dr. Charles Rupprecht and Ms. Lo**ta Van Pelt. Registration is now open for the 34th Annual Organization of Fish and Wildlife Information Managers (OFWIM) Conference & Business Meeting, taking place October 5–8, 2026, at the Virden Retreat Center, University of Delaware in Lewes, Delaware.

This year's conference theme, "Anchor Points: Keeping Conservation Grounded in Data Integrity," highlights the importance of technology and information exchange in supporting the management and conservation of natural resources.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with a project studying the distribution and ecology of medium and large mammals in the Baboquivari Mountains. Volunteers will help check and retrieve over 100 wildlife cameras deployed throughout the study area.
The Baboquivari Mountains are the westernmost sky island in the United States and are located almost entirely within the Tohono O'odham Nation. This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to wildlife research while spending time in one of Arizona's remarkable and biologically diverse landscapes.

Come join NPS rangers for the 2026 Border BioBlitz at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument! Help us search for and document the incredible biodiversity of the Sonoran Desert. All you need is a phone with the free iNaturalist app to catalogue your findings.
Visitors can meet at the Kris Eggle Visitor Center at 8:15 am to caravan together, or meet their fellow bioblitzers at Quitobaquito Springs at 9 am.
