When was the last time you actually swept fresh polymeric sand into your paver joints?
Paver joints aren't just for looks. When you leave those gaps open and empty, desert dirt, weeds, and rain get underneath the stone and wreck your sub-base. Every few years, you should grab a couple bags of polymeric sand, broom it into the joints, blow off the excess, and mist it down with a hose. It takes an hour and saves your patio from shifting.
Be honest in the comments: Do you actually maintain your paver sand every couple of years, or have your joints been completely empty since install day?
