Today's project: Cleaned and redesigned my little front porch. New coat of paint on the rocker, made a new summer wreath from things I had on hand and flags in honor of Memorial Day and those that made the ultimate sacrifice. God-bless America!

Cold, wind & showers have delayed my next outdoor project πŸ˜• so I've had to move inside. I'll be busy revamping a web page (not my idea of fun) but also have the materials for something fun I'm going to make. Who knows how long it will take! Step 1: cut the wood βœ” Here's a hint..

Yesterday's project delayed due to rain... This mid-century chair was Daddy's. I can still see him sitting in it under the carport. It was originally green and white (1950s) , then he painted it all green (1980s) & I painted it red (2008). It had a significant amount of rust so most of yesterday was spent sanding and cleaning it. I finally got a primer coat on it before the rain. Hoping the rain stops today long enough for me to finish it! What color will it be (2020)?

Today's project: cleaned, primed & painted the old (10 years?) post lanterns on my patio. Removing, cleaning & replacing 12 pieces of glass was tricky. Who would have guessed each piece was SLIGHTLY different? Like a breakable puzzle! Rain on the way so finished just in time! Before & after

9 Hard Truths About Clutter You Need to Hear

Please don't misunderstand! I love "stuff"! Particularly decorative stuff! As a matter of fact for the last 15 years I've made a living based on "stuff"... buying it, selling it, arranging and rearranging it. One of my passions is taking other people's stuff and arranging it to make their living spaces pretty. But about 2 years ago I staged a house getting ready to go on the market that gave me pause. She had "stuff" but not too much. The decorative pieces she had really stood out and made a statement, as compared to my own house, where pieces compete for space and there is SO much to look at! All her drawers & closet were organized and everything so easy to find, primarily because there was less stuff. Then just last year, I staged the home of an older woman that had suddenly passed away. Her family, all from out of town, wanted to put the home up for sale. Her home was so uncluttered
Not much sitting around and when you opened the closets & drawers it was amazing. When I say organized it wasn't crammed full of beautiful storage boxes and efficient organizers. There was just not much stuff in there. While there was some updating that needed to be done to sell her home, her family was not left with the burden of disposing of her lifetime of accumulating "stuff". It really made me think about my own home, how I live and what I want my children to have to deal with when I'm gone. Then today I read this article that really made sense to me. So I'm sharing it with you. When you have a moment give it a read and see what you think!

9. Your stuff is getting in the way of the best stuff.
