St. Lawrence Nurseries An organic nursery specializing in cold-hardy fruit and nut trees. Located in Potsdam, NY. My name is Connor Hardiman. St.

Lawrence Nurseries has been around for over 40 years, providing trees to our customers. Up until last year, the nursery was run by Bill and Diana MacKentley. They have since commenced a much deserved retirement, but I have taken over the business! Our customers are people in cold places who want to grow a few fruit trees, have a berry patch, or experiment with edible landscaping. Our aim is to provide plants which will bear fruit in a very cold climate, not just look pretty in someone's yard, although many of them serve both purposes. To this end, we strive to ship healthy, tough young plants that are well-packaged and ready to grow. We are not a landscape retailer, and we do not sell trees by their caliper measurement. We are a real nursery growing hardy young plants that can be easily and successfully dug, shipped and replanted in your yard. All our trees are grown organically and sustainably, to deliver the best product we can.

A huge “thank you” to my talented sister, Emily, for creating yet another beautiful cover design. This year, we decided to go for a fantasy/fairy tale theme, so the inside illustrations match the fairies and gnomes (and other creatures!) featured on the front.

Hardy to -40°F. Vandevere open pollinated. Ripens in October. Red striped.

Great all-purpose apple with a pleasant, spicy- sweet flavor. The tree is a vigorous grower; requires heavy pruning. Reliable cropper.

Like all of our fruit trees, Smokehouse apples are available this year for only $35 per tree. We are taking orders now through April 16th, but don’t wait til spring to get your act together!
