Warning; this is about use of AI;
Ya know, sometimes you just have to admit you’re wrong and pivot. I think it’s super important to always continue to learn and grow. There’s so many moments where I look back and can say ya, I should have acted differently then or my thought process was flawed but good news is I know better now.
I was on the Ai generated image/flyer band wagon because honestly, it made my life easier. I could produce content faster, better, and cheaper. (And time is my most valued commodity in this little life).
I don’t hang out in social media worlds much. I bounce on, post, and bounce off. But I started hearing the rumblings of anti-Ai generated content.
So? I did my own research and I see the problem. Ai generated images have a negative impact on the environment, water supplies, and take something away from human creativity.
I can’t change past actions, and there’s a few things in the shop that you’ll still see floating around with Ai use because honestly, it takes time to replace things. But! First was these sign replacements floating around the shop. I made this one myself (obviously). It will replace the signs we have currently in the shop that are Ai generated. There’s not a ton to replace, but it’s worth talking about and pointing out.
The absolutely beautiful side effect of the Ai controversy though; acceptance of human imperfection. In a world where we push perfection (especially on females) this debate has an unintentional positive impact; we LIKE human imperfection. It’s comfortable because it’s NORMAL to be imperfect. We don’t like the perfect robot, so let’s take that mindset to everything in our culture pretty pretty please.
My designs in the future won’t be as pretty as the ai generated ones (though my sister is an incredible digital artist and I’m VERY lucky to be able to utilize her-she’s working on recreating something now for us 🥰). But my designs will be human. And I’m kinda digging that concept being pushed 🪴
K that’s my random 5am rant for the day. 😂 come visit us for some amazing plant merch and delicious coffee!
