Herringbone flooring is a timeless pattern that adds character and elegance to any space. Whether it’s an entryway, library, office, or living room, it’s the kind of floor that immediately draws your attention.

Every piece is hand-cut here at Hard Knot Flooring. That allows us to customize the length for each project, ensuring the pattern fits the room exactly as it should.

Before installation begins, we prep the subfloor to make sure it’s as flat as possible. A beautiful floor starts with a solid foundation.

Next comes the layout. Every measurement is checked and double-checked because precision here determines how the entire floor comes together.

The starter row is the most important part of the installation. If it’s even slightly out of alignment, the pattern will continue to drift across the room.

There are several ways to install a herringbone floor, but after years of experience, this is the method I trust.

This isn’t something we do every day… but we know wood.

This 17-year-old Ipe deck had seen years of weather, sun, and wear. Most people would think it’s past its prime. We saw the potential still sitting right there in the grain.

With the right process, the right products, and a lot of attention to detail… we brought it back to life, right down to its original richness and depth.

This is something you simply can’t do with composite.
