Don't buy plants for your garden yet! The best plant sale in Central Oregon is coming up May 30. What makes it the best? Local vendors (including us, of course) selling veggies, flowers and shrubs that will grow well here in Central Oregon. Plus more local vendors selling other related products, local organizations with information booths, and we Master Gardeners will be giving live demos on how to transplant tomato seedlings, how to plant seeds, how to use a soil thermometer to know when to plant seeds, and planting decorative containers.

There are signs that a bad fire season looms: early closing at Mt. Bachelor; ski legs eliminated from Pole Pedal Paddle; low snow pack throughout the Cascades; the entire three-county region already in moderate or severe drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor; and Oregon just experienced the driest March on record (since 1895), according to drought.gov.

What can you do about it? Conserve water every way you can and prepare for this fire season and future ones like it. Your landscape is something you can control, so invest a little time and $10 in learning how to make your property more fire-resistant.
Join us at 6 p.m. May 5 for this important firewise landscaping webinar, or view the recording later at your convenience. Sign up at http:// gocomga.com/spring-seminar-2026.
