We are looking forward to hosting the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) community!

Join us on October 29th at Auger Klein Aller Architects for a Business After Hours designed to bring the next generation of industry leaders together with the executives helping shape the industry today. Young Professionals are encouraged to bring an executive, mentor, or leader from their company, and executives are encouraged to bring an up-and-coming professional they think should be making more connections in the industry.

This is an opportunity to step outside your usual circle, make new connections, and build relationships across different levels of experience — all in a relaxed, after-hours setting. Whether you’re growing your network, developing the next generation of leaders, or just looking to meet more people in the industry, grab someone from another generation of leadership and join us at AKA!

There is something special about helping write the next chapter of a place that has been part of its community for generations.

Central United Methodist Church - Traverse City has been part of the Traverse City story since 1858, with its historic Cass Street church serving the congregation and community for more than a century.

Today, AKA Architects is honored to be part of its next chapter.

Our philosophy began with a simple idea: before replacing what exists, take the time to listen, understand its history, recognize what has value, and consider what is possible. Great architecture can honor the past while thoughtfully creating space for the future.

That spirit is at the heart of the beautiful renovation now underway at Central United Methodist Church in Traverse City, preserving the character and significance of this historic place while helping it continue to serve its congregation and the Traverse City community for generations to come.

We are grateful to be working alongside Cunningham-Limp and Peter Basso Associates, Inc' Illuminart team, bringing architecture, construction, engineering and lighting together with a shared respect for this remarkable building.

People. Purpose. Passion.
Creating Community One Design at a Time.

It’s exciting to see Agape City Church in Howell, Michigan coming out of the ground!

Church design has a special place in AKA’s story. Our “Save the Church” philosophy began with a church that might easily have been torn down. Instead, we listened, considered the possibilities, and helped transform it into a beautiful, functional place that could grow with its community.

That experience shaped an approach we bring to every AKA project: listen first, understand the bigger picture, challenge the obvious solution, and consider what’s possible for thoughtful, sustainable growth.

We’re proud to bring that thinking to Agape through a design-build partnership with Schafer Construction, Inc, working together from the beginning to align design, construction, budget, schedule, and the church’s long-term vision.

We can’t wait to see this one continue to take shape.

A great day on the course—and an even better reminder of the strength of relationships within Michigan’s defense community.

Thank you to Granger Construction Company for the generous invitation to join their team at the Women in Defense Michigan Chapter Golf Outing, alongside Plante Moran

Having been a member of Women in Defense for nearly a decade, we are proud to support an organization that does so much to advance women in our industry—from its meaningful mentoring program to the connections, leadership opportunities, and advocacy it creates throughout Michigan’s defense community.

There's something special about projects that do more than create buildings—they help build community.

Construction continues to make great progress at The Graham Project in City of Rochester, Michigan, a development that will further strengthen the connection between people, local businesses, and the vibrant energy that makes Rochester such a remarkable place to live, work, and visit.
Situated near the Downtown Rochester Farmers' Marketand supported by the vision and investment of the Rochester DDA, this project represents a continued commitment to creating spaces that support local commerce, encourage walkability, and contribute to the long-term vitality of our downtown.

We are grateful to be part of a team helping shape a place where community thrives, businesses grow, and neighbors come together.

Building local. Building connections. Building community.
