Took the boys to Ozark Discovery Canopy and spent the whole afternoon!!

Pretty sure each department gave Nugget treats today on a lil run for some finishing pieces. Kept him content while I completed some to dos.

Thank you Home Depot for working with Born to Design on giving this duplex a face-lift. 🔨

Here is the fun with construction.. not all issues are visual.

So until you rip of 40 layers of paint around a window, you wouldn't know that the drywall beneath is being ate by termites. Or water has been seeping in and rotting the frame aroud the windows

Or when tenants would rather not be trouble and not call about squirrels in the attic and are lucky those chewed up wires only caused shortages.

Call us! We can get traps and rid of the rodents over replacing 70% of the outlet


Or that dishwashers been leaking but they just put a towel down!!

Call us!! We would rather repair a dishwasher than replace a whole kitchen full of cabinets plus drywall behind.

Friendly reminder you rent to take the burden of home owning off you. Dont ever be afraid to call, we prefer simple fixes over big issues. I swear it!!

Fun fact: this was NOT wallpaper. 😅

She actually painted this whole mural directly onto the wall using enamel paint meant for canvas.
Which explains why getting it off turned into a whole project of its own. 😂

That little bookworm especially was fighting for his life.

But the mural is finally gone, the walls are exposed, and now we’re onto repairs, texture, primer and making this room pretty again. 🙌

Meet the Owner — Hailey

Apparently, I’ve been preparing for Born to Design since I was about 8 years old — I just didn’t know that was what I was doing yet.

I grew up around home goods, materials, organizing, merchandising and selling. By 15, I was helping sell, organize and install wallpaper, and by 18, I was already helping people make design decisions for their homes and rental properties.

Since then, I’ve pretty much collected experience anywhere a house can possibly need it.

I spent years in retail management, where merchandising, floor sets, organization and making things look good were literally part of the job. Then I moved into the flooring industry, working my way through retail sales and into outside sales while learning both the residential and commercial sides of the business.

So yes, I can talk flooring, wallpaper, paint, finishes, furniture placement, rentals, remodels and why that one wall in your house has been bothering you for three years.

Born to Design is really just all of those years finally landing in one place.

I love helping people take the overwhelming part of a project and turn it into the fun part — whether that means choosing finishes for a new build, giving a rental a much-needed refresh, installing the perfect wallpaper, or helping someone make their home feel like their favorite place to be.

Basically, I’ve been rearranging, organizing, selling and decorating things since childhood.

Now I just have an LLC for it.

Taking down a client’s mural today, and I have to give credit where it’s due… When she painted this, she was COMMITTED to the details. 😂🎨

Even the switches were painted to disappear right into the mural.

I appreciate that kind of attention to detail — even while I’m undoing all of it. 😅

Now we get this wall cleaned up, prepped, and ready for its next look.
