We’ve been renovating the “shabin” for almost five years now. Big projects still planned for this summer. But getting the kitchen in order feels like a big deal.

Today’s task was to work on replacing the old R30 insulation that was improperly installed with R13 insulation. This is, of course, a shed renovation, so it was built with 2x4 studs instead of 2x6 residential studs. I did not understand the difference in insulation when I started this four years ago. I figured out pretty quickly that the R30 was WAY too thick for the studs, but it took me this long to get around to switching it out. Now that we’re looking at installing the ceiling boards, I have to replace the insulation.

I got part way before the heat and suffocation of the face mask finished me. More tomorrow. Day by day.

With a little time to kill this morning, Lilli and I took a quick drive through our State Park this morning. It’s my first day of summer break and it was a perfect way to start the season!
