I decided to stay an extra day after the IDS Conference to get outside the city and enjoy some time in nature! The weather was perfect for exploring, so I took a tour out to the Hoover Dam, where I got to visit the lookout bridge and see several incredible views of the dam. It was such a great experience!

After returning to Las Vegas, I enjoyed a show with a designer friend and ended the night with dinner before heading home the following day after breakfast at the hotel. It was an amazing trip filled with inspiration, connection, education, and community. I am so grateful for the experiences and connections I made and am already looking forward to attending next year’s IDS Conference in Boston!

Days 3 & 4 in Vegas were packed with design, inspiration, and fun!

Day 3 took us to the Las Vegas Design Center, where we attended inspiring speaker sessions and toured incredible showrooms including Feizy Rugs, Global Views, and Leftbank Art. We ended the day with dinner and drinks.

Day 4 brought more speaker sessions, followed by a free afternoon where I enjoyed lunch with some designer friends at a Brazilian steakhouse at The Venetian and I saw The Wizard of Oz which was incredible! We finished the night at the Designer of the Year Awards Gala, celebrating so much talent and creativity within our industry.

So grateful for all the inspiration, connections, and memories from this trip! There’s still more to come from my final full day in Vegas… stay tuned!

Last week at the IDS Conference was more than I expected and, honestly, more than I knew I needed. It truly filled my cup!

Day 1 was spent traveling and relaxing, which was much needed before jumping into a busy few days of learning, connecting, and being inspired. Day 2 began with our IDS Chapter Board Leadership sessions, where I had the opportunity to learn from other chapter leaders, share ideas, and gain new perspectives on leadership. We even had a mini swatched event where we created mood boards inspired by leadership!

We finished the evening with a keynote presentation, welcome reception and got to experience the Bellagio Fountains. There was so much inspiration everywhere in Las Vegas. From the architecture and interiors to the smallest details, everything felt intentional, thoughtfully planned, and special.

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from stepping away from your everyday routine, connecting with others, and simply taking it all in. Stay tuned for more!

Happy October, everyone! 🍂 I cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by and that we are already heading into the final few months of 2026!

This past week, I had the opportunity to attend the Interior Design Conference in Las Vegas. It was an incredible few days filled with connecting with fellow designers, continuing my education, celebrating the design community, and gaining plenty of inspiration. This photo was taken at the Designer of the Year Awards Gala. Congratulations to all of the winners!

While I was not a finalist this year, I submitted my work in three categories, which I am incredibly proud of and consider an accomplishment in itself. Putting my work out there and being part of an event surrounded by so many talented designers was an experience I am grateful for.

I had an amazing time at the IDS Tampa event last night at Carpet Crafters Rug Company! From great food to an incredible product selection to making new connections and gathering inspiration, it was truly a night to remember.

As a board member of IDS Tampa, I love being part of an organization that brings our design community together. There is something special about being in a showroom surrounded by like minded designers, industry professionals, and inspiring products. It is a great way to learn, connect, and stay inspired.

Welcome, September!

I can’t believe we are officially at the start of a new month already! August was filled with new projects, amazing views, the IDS monthly event, and an inspiring visit to The Art of Banksy exhibit.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Alison, the owner of Alison Interior Designs, helping homeowners transform their spaces from concept to completion.

Art and design are deeply interconnected, and this past weekend I had the opportunity to experience that connection firsthand while exploring the Art of Banksy exhibit at the Straz Center.

What made the experience especially interesting was how art and design came together throughout the space. The exhibit was held on the theater stage and the backstage areas, creating an immersive experience that transformed how you moved through and experienced the art.

Interior design is about so much more than making a space look beautiful. It is about how a space functions, how it feels, and the story it tells.
