When you’ve been working for hours, DAYS, and you think you’ve finally repaired and prepped as much as you can repair and prep and it’s time to stain….the furniture says “NOPE! You missed some loose veneer bwahahaha 😈” 😭😭😭😭

Is it possible to take 2 outdated pieces and make them cohesive and look like they’ve always been together? YES, indeed it is!

2 vintage maple pieces (bought at different times, made by different makers, with different hardware and bases) now look like a set from a magazine. Bye bye orange and hello gorgeous brown. Let me know if I can help you ❤️😉

Other than thinking I ordered the hardware that I needed for this to be completed, and having in fact NOT ordered it (ordered now and it will be here tomorrow) this little dresser with removable mirror is done! Whatcha think?

Today was sooooo busy. Up at 5 to take all the house decluttering haul to the flea market, then errands, a stop at Rowan County Animal Shelter (dog pulling at our hearts had been adopted, so praise God 🙌🏽), then home to hand sand a mirror (🤮) and put the first 2 clear coats on the little maple dresser. Finishing and posting after church!

Another episode of “Lunch Break Shenanigans”

Lunch breaks are not for lunch when you have a piece of furniture to finish! Last (3rd) coat of poly applied 🖌️, drawers boxes sanded and spiffed up 🧽 , hardware applied 🪛 , pictures snapped 📸.

Go ahead, oooooh aaaaah 😍🫶🏽🤩

Poly-> Varathane water based polyurethane in satin
Hardware-> k***s from Lowe's Home Improvement and pulls from Amazon.com

This is what 5 hours of work looks like. I have scraped and sanded *most* of this little dresser with 120 (still have to do 150/180/220), made repairs, and altered the base. That’s it. No, I didn’t stop to eat or do anything else. What’s my point you ask? Just making it make sense when you see a price tag that isn’t garage sale worthy.

Ps-DEWALT I need a new sander 🙏 😉
