We had an amazing team do so many wondrous farm tasks in exactly 1 hour! From clearing out our torpedo onion and carrot beds , to cleaning and processing the harvest, to weighing the bounty, and layering black silage tarp atop the former root beds to helps retain moisture and keeps weed-free. We also forked our erstwhile garlic bed for a summer cover crop sowing!

THANKS SO MUCH to the lovely hearts that joined this week’s harvest at Wasatch Commons.

This article in the Cap Times, one of Madison WI's local papers is pretty good. NTBD is a forming group in Wisconsin, and the reporter did a nice job of describing cohousing in general. Here is one quote from the article that I like: “We're making a commitment that we'll work together to find a way to make a decision that works for the entire group,” Mania said. “We accept that sometimes we'll get exactly what we need. Other times we're not going to get what we were really looking for, but we got something, we made a decision, and we accepted something that works good enough for us, and I can also accept it because I know it meets my needs and it strengthens our community, and we can keep working together as a community.”

Organizers say cohousing is becoming more popular with its emphasis on community and sustainability. The NTBD Project hopes to be Madison’s next community.
